victor3ranger
I was talking to a guy yesterday and he has been feeding "Creep" to deer. It is a calf pelletized feed. He says they love it but I don't know what to think, I am pretty sure it probably has anit-biotics and stuff like that in the feed. Not so sure if it would be a good thing to feed wild deer, what do you guys think?
stcif
I don't know anything about that stuff but I would say deer should eat what grows naturally, along with whatever crops they can steal.
toddyboman
Never used that before..... I don't any more but I use to feed some Purina Deer feed........To be honest the deer would eat it but they didn't love it. It had a bunch of high proteins in it and was suppose to be good for them. I mixed it with corn to make sure they ate it all. Now I spend that money on food plots. That way they have the good food I want them to have YEAR AROUND and not just when I dump it. I do however each winter dump corn out. I do this for monitoring purposes to see what deer made it through the seasons and when they start shedding. Bulk corn is/was much cheaper than deer specific feed.
victor3ranger
I do have the year round food plots and have used corn, protein deer feed ect at feeding stations where I usually use my cameras so I can see what is around. buckee
CREEP feed http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/livestock/beef/facts/02-027.htm It's used for weaning calves and not a very good choice as a substantial food source. HUNTINGMAN
Corn is like candy to a deer.

victor3ranger
Interesting read on the creep, thanks for the link. I might have to move one of my cattle feeders over to one of my camera feed stations and try some of this stuff out. My small feeder will hold 2000lb of feed so I might want to see what this will cost in bulk:cowboy:
