Hoosier Hunter
I decided to try to kill a doe this morning, since I already got my buck. Before it was light I heard stuff walking around me but couldn't tell what it was. Once it got light I spotted 3 does but they never came in range. Then around 9:30 I spot what I think is a coyote. I get my rabbit distress call out and get my bow and camera ready. I zoom in and its a bobcat! I get some good footage as its trotting by and once I don't see it I start blowing on the call and it comes back within 40 yds. Here's a still from the video. This is the first time I have ever seen one. It didn't look much smaller than the average yote.
buckee
That was some great footage. He sure does look nice and healthy alright. AWESOME!!
wtnhunt
Looks to me like a real healthy mature cat there Chase. I usually see a couple every year here while deer hunting, have seen one close to the size of the one you got there and guessed it was probably over 30 lbs. That one you got on the video looked a little thicker in the legs and body.
billkay
Cool to see. Heard of them up here in NWI but never seen one. Great footage as well.
HUNTINGMAN
I seen my first ever bobcat back in the spring turkey season. They are beautiful creatures and seeing one is something I won't soon forget.
The Bug House
COOL!! "Another fun morning in the woods".....says it all. I've only seen a Bobcat twice in my life, both here in the Northeast. One ran across the road in a flash right in front of my car in western Mass. The other while I was in my canoe in the ADK's I spotted one about 60 yds down the shoreline. I just drifted silently and watched eat a mouse or something for about 10 minutes before is spotted me. Amazing.
