TBow
I've been out in the morning the past couple of days and his has been getting progressively colder. This morning it was -14 C (7 F) with a chill factor making it feel like -22 C (-8 F). Yesterday my brother-in-law and I saw 16 deer in the morning while on stand, 15 does and fawns and 1 buck. My son and I were out this morning and only saw 2, 1 fawn and 1 buck. My son had the buck at 25 yards, but no shot presented itself. The stand was creaking in the cold when my son tried to shift his weight around to get positioned to shoot and likely allerted the buck as he was upwind, but spooked. Thursday and Friday are supposed to get mild with temps houvering above the freezing mark and Saturday is calling for rain. The end to the deer season is fast approaching (Friday) and I may just be kicking myself for passing on all those does that have been lingering around my stands this fall. Still all in all, I've enjoyed the hunting season just getting out more this year than the past few years. TBow
Shaun_300
Yeah it was a little cool, about the same temps here. Sure warmed up today though, we're sitting at -3 C (27 F) right now. Getting warmer and warmer as the week goes on, high of +6 C (43 F) on Saturday with rain.

TBow
I was out this morning. It was almost balmy by comparison to a few days ago. I had 1 buck about 40 to 50 yards from me, but he heard my stand creaking and opted to exit stage left. I saw 6 does and fawns as well. My brother-in-law had a doe and 2 fawns about 10 yards from him. We've got a doe tag, but are still holding out for some horns. Time is running short and those does are starting to look tempting. TBow
Time Is A Runnin' Out Only 2 days left for this year's archery whitetail season. I've been hitting the mornings pretty hard the past couple of weeks and to tell the truth, my eyes are getting really heavy most days. My brother-in-law has commitments tomorrow morning so I might just opt to sleep in and catch up on some shut-eye. I have to pick my mother-in-law up from dialysis tomorrow afternoon, but I think I might be able to wrangle some time mid day to get out and put a little more corn and grain on the stands we're hunting to try and set things up for Friday and the last hooraw for this year. I've got the Argo all loaded up on the trailer and ready to go, just as soon as I can muster myself out of bed in the morning. I think my New Year's resolution is to sleep, sleep, sleep for the first week or two, then I'm hopin' to try for a few coyotes. TBow
