Hang 'em!

I want to hang a gun on a wall, but want it to have a somewhat classy, professional hanging thingy-ma-bob. I want some sort of hook and not mounted deer feet. What have you done to hang things, guns or anything else where the 'hook' is visible yet looks really good/cool?

Definitely not the author of this thread.

I turned an old gun cabinet into an entertainment center with little hangy thingy-ma-bobs on the side for my guitar hero guitars.

Something like this, but instead of the carved elk, just burn a cowboy brand into the center. You could do leather straps like this or any kind of hook ya want. If you don't like the rustic look like this one...you could sand it down and put some glaze on the wood to make it shiny.

That is pretty sweet, but I dont have a desire to hang a 90 dollar rifle in a 250 dollar case. I am thinking just a simple hook style that looks better than some random hooks I can get at lowes.

I make all of my gun racks. Here is the last one I made for my '66. I bought the tin sign and the bullet hooks on-line and mounted them on a piece of willow. All toll, I have less than $40 invested.

Ever consider using horse shoes? I have several things hanging in my house using them.

Weld two together (one flat, the other 90deg off). Touch up with black or antique paint... done.

Horse shoes are typcially under $2 each....
