wtnhunt
It's not homonym day AF. Thought up a good homonym sentence the other day, sure I will forget it before the next homoym challenge. Well, if you've noticed, I don't correct anyone anymore. It's annoying, and a full time job. Yeah, noticed that a while back, still fun to poke fun though and trying to lighten things up a bit. So just a tad over 5 hours later and you have forgotten your own advice. Wow. Moderators these days. Sheesh, ain't that the truth. Mr. serious hijacking lounge moderatorador can delete this post now.:offtopic:
hoosierhunter
I thought this was a family forum? I wasn't gonna post in this until I seen your post. This is taking a hit at me, Because I am a teen. And I completely disagree with you. If it wasn't for this site I don't know if I'd be in the woods today! And I have some very good friends on this site. So do you mind to tell me why you think youth movement has a great deal to do with why so many older members have left? Because I am clueless. :helpsmilie: In general terms not directed any anyone specifically the younger posters have taken over with complete nonsense threads and replies and people get sick of sifting through fluff. Young people are more apt to jump on a bandwagon and simply follow instead of lead and have a tendancy to take things way too personal and fly off the handle much sooner than others. Everyone has their own moments but IN GENERAL terms the younger the individual the less common sense is applied.........
hoosierhunter
I'm sorry Hoosier..I think you are dead wrong..we need to embrace our young generation of hunters, and help them along I do embrace the youth of hunting and getting them involved but I do not embrace it under any circumstances. This being one where I think age can be applied. Just the same as the drinking and smoking ages limits or limits to sit in a bar.
huntnfish
One of the parts I enjoy most about hunting or fishing is spending time with family. The big buck on the ground or the 8 pound bass does not mean near as much to me as the time spent with love ones.

Ravin R10 man
Some kids are very mature at an early age while others are not..I know what your saying Hoosier, but what age do you cutt them off at? Possibly, they must have to hold a hunting license for their state to be allowed on here? On the other note..I didnt know being on this site was harmful to your health like smoking or drinking, I dont get what that has to do with this matter at all. BowJoe
Well, I haven't posted on here in a while and I'm sure I haven't been missed. I'll say this though. I agree with Buckee completely and while he was a mod, we disagreed on several things but he was by far and away THE voice of reason and good conscience on this forum. I never knew him to start problems or insult anyone. In fact, he was often the good hearted sport when he was the butt of many jokes. I don't think he's changed at all. For those that say one or two rooms should be sufficient for kids, their was a time when all rooms were fit for youth and kids and we seldom needed reminding. Used to, people liked the forums as a wholesome, family site that didn't bother anyone. I see some of the mods have, themselves, decided to cuss and lower the standards on here that I loved when I first joined. I am guilty of pushing the limits on here a few times and I regret it now. Do I feel like my opinion is even of the slightest value on here now? Nope. Do I let that affect my post? Nope. This is a matter of several people that can't articulate ideas in type without typing a cuss word as if it's an intelligent adjective. I can understand cussing while you're speaking because it's an instant transfer from brain to mouth. But to let your fingers cuss is an asinine idea since you have a delete button and backspace not to mention you can proofread your post before hitting the submit reply button. Someone smarter than me once said that cursing shows a person's inability to form a cognitive sentence and must therefore resort to the lowest form of speech in order to convey their idea. If you feel so compelled as to cuss in every room but the kid's rooms then you have a problem with thinking that in order to make everyone think you're an adult, you have to use vulgar slang. Oh well, that's enough of me preaching as it'll fall on deaf ears and prolong the argument for those that feel defensive, which is an indication of a guilty feeling, which in turns mean you do it and think for some absurd reason that I am the hateful one and speaking directly to you. Happy New Year and oh yeah... :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
92xj
I find this post interesting, the date surprises me the most, I thought it was all cherries back in the good ol' days.... Dated: 10-25-2005, 06:48 PM Well said, but umm not to step on any toes....But their has been way more non-acceptable behavior in the lounge.....And by that i mean putting people down, and arguing, and not backing down, i feel that moderators need to put something in there, because its more the "adults" than the "youths" i feel that we are unfairly targeted by behavioral status...When some adults act more immaturely than the youths, i know, as much as most other people in the youth room that there are pre-teens in here and we respect that, and by respect i mean think before we type......Just my imput.... We need a separate space for the youth in here like we need a hole in the head (putting it bluntly). I liken it to having your hunting buddies and their children over for coffee, cookies and donuts (or whatever) , and telling all the youth that they can't stay in the living room with you adults, so either go to your room, or go outside and play. need2hunt
Time blurs memories doesn't it. Back in the good ole days when we had no problems and there was peace and harmony amongst mods and members alike. Back when the attitude wasn't "I have an opinion and everyone deserves to hear it" Back when we could take something with a grain of salt. Back when we didn't think that we were the only ones that were right. Back when we all respected each other. Back when the mods way was follow the rules or be shown the door. Back when the members didn't get hurt feelings if they were asked or told to stop something. Back when everyone came here to give positive encouragement and just talk with other members (or friends is what we used to call them back in the day). Back when we knew how to speak our own opinions no matter who was present. Back when if you had moderator in your title you weren't stereotyped as evil for doing your job (or just evil). Back when if a member was reprimanded for something they didn't cry because someone within the forums at some point in time got away with something similar. Back when everyone realized no matter what your title was you were still human and made mistakes. Back when everyone took responsibility for there own actions. Back when everyone thought being respectful and helpful to other members was the way to build a positive community. Back when everyone didn't try to push their own agenda on other's. Back when everyone didn't make obvious statements against others and then say That's wasn't what i was doing. Back when everyone enjoyed the majority of the forums that are positive instead of getting involved in the outbursts of the few. Back when everyone could look at the list that I made above and the first thing came to mind was something about themselves they could improve on instead of someone else. Yep, those were the days, back when it was all perfect. Back when we saw clearly in the present, ...at least that's how I remember it. hoosierhunter
What exactly is your age range for the "younger posters"? Not sure Like someone said maturity has a lot to do with it as well. A 14 year old can have more presence than a 24 year old at times.
