Nice lookin' pooch Jeramie. Are you training her yourself? About time to start force fetching!

I am, having them trained is expensive! She is fetching good. What is force fetching? Right now I can toss a bag, she will pick it up and follow me around. She wont set it down or give it up until I tell her "Release". Ive also used the duck scent and tossed the bag into cover, making her work for it. She finds it and retrieves it for me. The only issues I'm having is that after she gets bored she runs off with the bag. She will bring it back to me 75% of the time after that but it takes a few minutes of her running around acting like a spoiled teen. :D

I brought a bird home too. She played with it and was very interested.

"Force Fetch" is where you train the dog to fetch on command. Just like sit, here, or heal. It means to fetch it now, not on your time. Sounds like your pup is doing great, im in the process of Force hold and going to start force fetch next month.

If you want a DVD to show you the easiest way then check out the Tritronics DVD "Trained Retrieve". It is a great step by step instructional DVD that explains why you use these lessons. From the sounds of your pup you should breeze though the lessons. It just reinforces the command given. PM me and i can give you a online dog supply store that is hard to beat for any gundog need.

Headed to AR in the morning so i hope ill have some pics of my pup when i get back. 6month old pup on his first hunt, this is going to be fun.
