NYBUCK
Well many of you may remember that my youngest daughter is a pretty good athlete and that she is carrying her talents over to the Division III basketball courts. Well the season started slow for them, they played some real tough competition and they had a 2 - 7 record after the first nine games. They lost about 4 of those games by 5 points or less. Well they ran off 9 wins in a row and 16 of the last 18. This past Friday and Saturday after finishing second in the league they played for the conference championship in Utica NY. Friday they defeated the # 3 team and Saturday they defeated the # 1 team to win the championship and earn a berth into the NCAA tournament. Ironically the team they beat has two players that are from the same high school as my daughter. It was a great game, we were down most of the game and tied it up just before regulation and won it in overtime. They now play Wednesday in Brockport against Alvernia College from Pennsylvannia. If they should win that, we travel to Maine to play Bowdoin College which is ranked # 3 in the country and runner up to last years national champions. Court, my daughter is averaging about 20 minutes a game and 6 points per game. Not bad for a freshmen. HERE IS A PIC ... IF YOU CAN'T TELL, I AM A LITTLE PROUD

NYBUCK
Re: Daughters collegiate career Thanks everyone. Chris I didn't know that, that is pretty cool. I hope we make it there. Thanks everyone for the help with the pics, esp vermonthunter, I appreciate it. It has been a great season, they were predicted to finish like 6th in the division. The blonde holding the trophy is Courtneys roomie. She is also a freshman. She was the best rookie of the SUNYAC conference and also earned the MVP at the conference championship. She is one heck of a player. She also earned 1st team all-star status. They should be solid for a few years. I am leaving work around 2 today to travel to Brockport to watch the game. I hope they play well and get a win, it would be the first NCAA win in the history of the school for Brockport.
HuntingInMaine
Re: Daughters collegiate career Bring a shovel if you make it up for the Bowdoin game! We just can't seem to stop the snow. Many congratulations to your daughter....maybe you can meet some of Maine's RT members if you come up for the game, there are a few of us who are very close. BTW - which one is your daughter? NYBUCK
Re: Daughters collegiate career The head coach is the women with her finger in the air dressed in black. My daughter is the one just to the left of her, right in the middle of the pack. That would be cool, if we make it there maybe we could meet somewhere for coffee or something. NYBUCK
Re: Daughters collegiate career Well it is over, they lost last night so we won't be traveling to Maine. We could have won last night, however it was one of those games where nothing would go in. We had some good chances but the ball would not drop. We shot like 22% from the field. It was a great season and only loosing two seniors, we should be ready for next year. Thanks for everyones support.
Tominator
Re: Daughters collegiate career Sorry to hear that bud. Well, she's young, and it sounds like the team is young so there's a bright horizon, eh? Give her a congrats from me, and remind her of Jimmy V's motto "don't give up, don't ever give up."
