wtnhunt
Interesting hearing about big bucks taken this year, have heard about and seen pics of a couple monsters that were killed mid day not far from here, county just northwest of us. Going to try and do this as a multiple post poll. Next will be about most buck sightings. So, when is the highest activity point for your deer sightings? WHISKEYSWAMP
I would say I see the most deer between 8-10am during most hunts... Most of the larger bucks I usually see between 4pm-dark.
need2hunt
It really depended on which property I was hunting, the properties I hunted this year the most of the activity was in the morning. Over the years I've hunted some properties that morning hunts were terrible, you would see a increase of movemment between 10 and 11:30 in the morning and then more movement from 2 until dark. Ethan Givan
I usually see the most deer between 8-10 am. After 4 pm would be a close second but the biggest bucks I have seen while hunting were in the morning hours.Saw 3 nice bucks this year, 1 in Sept. and the other 2 in mid Nov. and all three fell in the 8-10am time frame. Saw 1 nice buck last year that also fell into that time frame. I will also add that Ive seen more chasing and other rut activity during that time frame as well. ruttinbuc
I saw decent bucks at different times of the day, but most were in that hour before dark.
rhine16
I voted 8-10, but it all depends on the moon phase and weather in my opinion... except for buck movement during the rut
MUDRUNNER
I am always amazed at how many people see more deer in the evenings. In my 20 or so years of deer hunting I see probably 75% off the deer in the mornings, which is weird mostly because I hunt more evenings than mornings. I did kill my second buck of the season in the evening this year. I suppose it may have to do with your location. Most of the property I hunt on is timber. Perhaps if I had more cropland to hunt evenings may be a little better.
fly
Tough call... Depends a lot on where I'm at and the month. I'd say I see more deer and big deer in that last hour of daylight. Some places I hunt I'll see more in the morning, but overall that last hour of light produces the best odds. The most deer I've seen in a morning has been about 10 (always late season - after the rut). I have seen over 20 deer in the evening during the late season.
