buckee
One of my favourite shows. That was the closest thing to a hunting show we had back then.

The Bug House
I'm only 37, but I watched that show quite often. Marty Stouffer as well.......I'd like to think they influenced my life to some extent. Of course in the land before internet and cable TV, when something like that came on you got excited! GWSmith
I dont remember the very first show but I'm fairly sure that I've seen them all through reruns. I was 2 when that show started but my Dad used that show to begin my hunting experiences. He taught me shot selection and asked me questions about why they were doing stuff or what they did wrong. It was back when if you got asked a question about something you had to hurry with the answer because there was no pause button or DVR to rewind! I sat on his lap and learned enough watching that show he finally let me tag along out in the field and carry their dead pheasants and rabbits. I got to carry a bb-gun but was not allowed to carry bb's for awhile until I could show I would not swing on a bird into the line. Remember being sad when Marlin Perkins was not going out into the field much anymore and just narrating the show in a suit. Steve, Curt Gowdy is why I tie Trout Flys to this day! Griz
We didn't have a TV back then...My Dad thought they were a waste of time and money... On Sunday we would gather in the den with a bowl of homemade icecream to listen to the Radio...
Dawg
I wasn't alive in 1963. Don't reckon I have ever seen that show either.
HUNTINGMAN
I aren't that quit old but do remember watching wild America when I was a kid , also liked to watch mutual Omaha outdoors show. I think they made a movie a few years back about how Marty stoufer grew up and got his start,it was a pretty good movie.
