Under "resources" you can click to gave an estimate of the best time for game & fish activity. However, is there a way to modify the results to the place you will hunt? I am leaving NJ for a hunt in the Alabama Black Belt and the rut may not be at peak yet. Just wondering if there is a way to set the forecast for the place you are going to hunt? Anyone? Thanks.

No I dont think you can change the forcast for a certain area. I think the forcast is based only on moon phases and does not take into account any other factors.

I have payed attention to the game forcast on here quite a bit in the past just out of curiosity and I can honestly say I have not seen much of a correlation between what it forcasts and the deer movement I have seen. I wouldnt rely on it too much.

You would be correct Ethan..... there is a similar chart in the front of one of my hunting mags and it explicitly states that game time movements are for all time zones, yada, yada, yada........ I tried using the times in the second rifle season in Kansas this year........ yeah, not again. Don't put a whole lotta stock into the forecaster........ it's merely a best educated guess of movement times based on moon phases. Just my two cents worth........ KS

Yes, there are a lot of variables to mix up those times. There was a guide on the back of a calander i used to get from a local sports shop where the times were pretty darn close. What principles they used is unknown. I can remember telling a guy at work what time to expect to see deer. He would be astonished as I when they did show up around that time. It wasn't always right but uncanny how close it was.

The best times to be in the woods is when you have the time to be in them.
