Texan_Til_I_Die
I wrote fishing articles for a local paper back in the 80's when I was considering going pro on the BASS tour. Wish I had saved them, but at the time it just didn't seem like a big deal at all. This was before the advent of personal computers and word processing programs so it was a major pain to type it up, proof it, retype it, retype it again because of changes, etc, etc.... It would probably be quite a bit easier today, but back then it would take me 4 hours to write a one column article. Are you asking out of general curiosity or is there something specific you're looking for?
buckee
Just the odd bit of poetry here.
ckrich
I occasionally post on my good friend's fly fishing blog. I don't know if anyone really reads it or not, but it's a great way to jot down some good memories. Speaking of which, I need to write something up for that.... Jeramie
Ive written a couple of novels, never had any published. I have also written a local news paper and website. I have bits of writing all over the place from Poetry, music, outdoor writing, event writing, etc. I would love to make a living writing but its obviously not an easy carrier to make a living at.... One of these days I plan on trying to have one of my novels published.

ruttinbuc
I had some letters to the editor published in different newspapers and magazines. Does that count, lol... Seriously though, I often thought of having my own blog and seeking advertising for it. I made a few attempts at having articles published, but never any luck. TBow
I've written a few short hunting related stories and submitted them to online contests. I won one contest coordinated by a member on this website and won a hunting product as a prize. I submitted a story to the field note section of RT and had one story posted. I used to write work-related short interest stories and submit them to where I used to work and had a couple stories published in my worksite national newsletters. I was a Union Local executive for 17 years where I worked and can't even begin to fathom how many letters, correspondance and grievances I'd written up over those years. I guess that's where I learned to hone my writing skills to some degree. But I think to be really good, you need people who can be truly impartial and objective to critique your work. You need feedback in order to move forward. I had considered trying to submit some of my writings to regional and/or national magazines. That was just to try and claim them as "work related" in order to use my research costs (hunting trips) as tax write-offs. That never amounted to much of anything, more so due to my procrastination than it not being a viable avenue though. I do enjoy writing however, and have on occassion been able to stretch the truth ever so slightly in order to heighten the readers' interest from time to time. But hey, isn't that what telling stories around the proverbial hunting and fishing campfire is all about! TBow
