preacherman
We do get excited when snow comes! So does the grocery store, because everyone buys bread and milk! Why, I don't know, but they do. Anyway, here are a few pics from our 5+ inches from North Mississippi.
Guest TennesseeTurkey
Yeah Im seeing all kinds of snow pics from Corinth, Booneville and Saltillo on my facebook page from friends and family... One of them had 7.5 inches in Alcorn county....

MCH
We got about 7 inches. Seeing as how we're about 20 miles from the Texas line, you might as well call this a blizzard.

mikebohio
i was stationed at Kessler AFB in Mississippi in 87-88. they got one inch of snow and shut the base down. no exaggeration one inch and they would ticket you for driving on base. William, it is pretty; but I am glad it is gone. Glad you guys did not get the freezing rain and sleet there Scott. News and weather channels showed that some areas got as much as 3 inches of sleet. Will gladly take snow over that crap anyday. Still snowing on and off here, but melting faster than it is coming down, temp is 30, should not be melting but it is. Gonna be a real nasty mess in the morning tomorrow when this stuff refreezes overnight. Schools will probably be out again tomorrow.
VermontHunter
Freezing rain / sleet in any amount is NO joke ,, no matter what region you live in, that stuff is just plain nasty and dangerous ..
Dawg
I want some snow. Weather folks were calling for freezing rain/sleet for my area but it changed and all we got was cold and rain. I like the look on your sons face......"Take the stinkin' picture and get me back inside!".....
PotashRLS
Yep, looks as if tho you got a good dusting indeed ,, Scott .. Yes sir, that is what we call it too. I can certainly see where it is fun for folks in the south to get a taste of some snow. 4 1/2 months though can get old after a while. GWSmith
Freezing rain / sleet in any amount is NO joke ,, no matter what region you live in, that stuff is just plain nasty and dangerous .. Completely Agree!!! It pays to have alternate sources of Heating when your primary source is Electrically powered too It's almost a gaurantee that if your heater has an Electric control panel...the power will go out when the powerlines drop from the excessive Ice. Every Year there are reports of people dieing from using a BBQ grill to stay warm because they were not prepared. Make sure it is an approved heating source and you provide plenty of fresh air circulation, your batteries in the smoke detector have been checked, and no heater is left unattended! preacherman
All of the freezing rain and sleet stayed south of us. We only got snow here. I am personally ready for all of it to go and spring to get here.
Jeramie
We typically get freezing rain, snow, and then another layer of freezing rain on top to be sure we cant drive faster than 5.... Luckily we only got about 1" of snow this time around. I like the white stuff but the ice makes things impossible! We need moisture around here BAD. Things are really dry! HUNTINGMAN
Cool pics,if I had that jeep it wouldn't have snow built up on the tires,I'd be out doing doughnuts somewhere.

stevebeilgard
that's quite a snowfall for you guys. that little changes nothing in wyoming.
Shaun_300
That's quite a bit of snow for you guys! We don't have a whole lot of snow here. Temps have been quite cool. Usually when it's cold you don't get too much snow. Ideal temps are between 15 and 30 for snow, that's when we get most of ours. Hopefully we'll get some decent snowfalls soon, I'm itching to try out my new snowblower!
redkneck
Scott you got all the snow and we got all the ice this time. Boss called last night and told me we would shut the plant down, crap he didnt even do that for katrina! That baby is growing fast! The girls were about 8 before they saw their first real accumulation of snow here, seems like we used to could count on one or two a year.
