    What is....

Hunting turkey one spring and just after daylight I had an elk bugle about 50 yards away. Talk about jump out of my pants. That may not sound strange to a lot of people here but keep in mind Elk are not common in Oklahoma. The ones that are here are protected. Ive lived in Oklahoma all of my 33 years and thats the only time ive even heard an elk in Oklahoma. Ive never actually seen one on hoof.
  2. Id 10 - 1 rather pick up my bow. Thats not to say I dont Rifle hunt but bow hunting is more challenging and more addictive! You truly earn a deer while bow hunting.
  3. Well stated. Hopefully the majority of America sees the same thing....
  4. Lets just pray they do get settled!
  5. Point taken.. I am exactly the opposite. After I spend that long behind a brush, pencil, etc. I have a hard time letting go of the original!
  6. Im going to look into the local dives and see if they want to buy. Good thinking. Its has offically started. Im picking up some equipment this week to make our life easier, starting with a 3 - Point, PTO Tiller.
  7. Yep, he very much appreciated it! He has been Texting me pic after pic of his group. He is like a kid in a Candy store. Thanks again Al.
  8. Oklahoma does and I believe Arkansas does also. Colorado and Wyoming too.
  9. Another vote for the ATR's. They arent going to win matches but they are decent shooting hunting rigs.
  10. Great work! One suggestions. Instead of selling an original I personally would make say 30 prints of each one. Its fairly cheap to do. Number each print (along with adding a signature) and then sale the prints. There are even brokers online that sale prints. It can become a nice little side business and you get to keep the originals!
  11. Those things are a PAIN. My wife's will have to be cut out. Luckily I am one of the very few that was born without them and will never have them....
  12. Im going to try and update a pic today. My entire arm is black, blue, and yellow now. Its from my elbow to my watch. Its SORE...... To tell you all the truth im whimping a little. Im afraid to shoot until this thing heals. Its so raw right now that another hard slap would be horrible!
  13. My first thought would be an H&R in .243 or a Stevens bolt. Look on Gunbroker, some really good deals can be had on there if youre willing to wait it out. If youre not familiar with Gunbroker, its the NRA's version of Ebay for guns.
  14. Ive thought about buying an old firework stand and putting it at the front of my property and doing exactly what youre talking about. My only concern is that I will be raising thousands of pounds and that seems like potential for a HUGE loss. Hopefully im wrong! We are starting the steps. Looks like im going great guns come spring. For now I have some fencing to do, irrigation to work out, land to work, etc.... Ill keep pics and updates comming as it progresses!
  15. Every year we do a large garden (large by most standards). The past several years we have gotten insane yields. Things have went so well my wife and I are considering turning some of our land into a "Mini farm." I already use the farm schedule for a horse operation but we are now considering doing vegetables. We are in the planning phase right now. Im looking at producing our plants and others to sell during spring. Ill buy the seeds online and start them in a greenhouse. That should greatly help the cost of the planting operation and recoup a lot of cost in plant sales. The only problem we truly face will be moving the produce. We have a few farmers markets within 55 miles from the house but I really dont know how all of that works. Due to it being a smaller operation selling by the ton to canners and such isnt feasible. Does anyone have any experience in farmers markets or selling to the general public? What would be the best way to sale thousands of pounds of garden produce? I could use some input. We are looking at 5k - 6k start up cost but if our math is even close (and we figure on the light side) we could gross $10 - 12k the first season and go onward and upward from there. input porfavor......
  16. Id love to make the drive but that is a pretty good click from Tulsa! You guys have fun...

    Obama ?

Yep, Steve hit that on the head. These people that are running the offices right now dont belive in freedoms. They believe in forcing others to do as they wish. America needs to wake up and remember that we Are and OWN our government. We are NOT owned. These people are elect officals and are suppose to be doing the bidding of the country, not setting and impossing their own standard! He wants to control everything from Energy, healthcare, income, and any other freedom you can imagine. It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations. Barack Obama We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That's not leadership. That's not going to happen. Barack Obama
  18. Point taken... You are right. Scent control is 100% important.
  19. I need to look up that video! Ill take all of the help I can get...
  20. I use to wear an arm guard but quit years ago. However, before I can bring myself to fling another arrow I have to have one. I couldnt stand another hit on that same arm right now.....
  21. Great hog and wow, that gator is big!
