nothing new to report here. I have shot 2 does this year so far and i have a weekend of shotgun left 4 muzzleloader days left and i have until the beginning of February to bow hunt. However, work is not letting me get to the woods right now to get me my buck. Will let you know if i get a chance and succeed!

well i shot another doe today and still have the rest of this week off to try to get a buck or even another doe. will let you know if the next one has horns.

well here she is 120 lbs dressed weight...

i smoked a doe the other day, will post the pictures in a few days. Then today i videotaped my buddy smoking a doe of his own! In the last two weeks we have shot 9 deer between the 5 of us that stick together and 11 for the year so far. I still have a few more days of vacation to try to get my big boy just too bad it seems that rut has not really kicked it into high gear yet. Will check back with the pics in a few days.

well, i missed a 10 pt the other day, it happened on a quick drive. he came out of the corn and i took the shot at 25 but somehow went over his back. i have to work tomorrow but then i am off for a week to do nothing but hunt. hopefully i will get my buck under my belt for the season.

been seeing deer but none in range, i passed two small bucks that were in range though but can't get a doe to come in close. I did take a shot at a coyote but did not connect, will be heading out this evening.

passed a 5 pt last night, will be out tonight after this front moves through today, seems to be the best time for me in the past going out after a rain.

present, hunt in ohio season starts sept 29, will check in every once in a while but i dont get on every day.

sure makes waiting until season starts tough when this walks by less than a hundred yards from the house.

here are some more pictures from some bucks from last year. as you can see genetics are pretty good for these woods!

well to the best of my ability through blowing these photos up and asking friends opinions I feel all three of these deer are the same deer. If you notice on the ear it has a notch in it in all 3 deer. If it is indeed the same deer that would mean that this bugger gained 100 inches of antler in one season. The first photo is from 9-11-06, the second and third are from 6-23-07, and the forth and fifth are from 7-25-07.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving yeah dave this year it ends feb 4th. hopefully i will get out this afternoon. I have not had the opportunity to hunt since muzzleloader a few days after christmas. Hopefully the woods are settled and the deer are up after all this rain. I have an unpicked bean field half a mile away that i am going to set up on and hopefully catch them coming to feed.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving i still have a month of archery left. I will do my best to get out and try to get a buck. The woods were hunted pretty hard for Muzzleloader and the deer have left for now but should be back as the pressure drops off. I will do my best to get on of them.

Re: 7 - The Freezer Fillers here is a picture of my deer. nothing fancy but it put some meat in my freezer and got us 5 points. Been a long tough season for me so far!

Re: Happy Thanksgiving just got back from the trip for shotgun season, as a group we got 5 deer with 7 guys hunting. in this were two 10 pts, an 8 pt, and two yearlings. I shot one of the yearlings and will get the pictures up within the next couple of days to get us 5 more points. Tomorrow will be deer cleaning day and back out Thursday and Friday to hopefully get a buck down.

Re: 7 - The Freezer Fillers well tomorrow is my last day of vacation and so far deer hunting has been rough. have not seen as many as usual but that is mainly because i have been hunting on my property that i just got this fall. mostly a recon mission for future years. so far with trail cameras and my eyes i have seen 6 different bucks in the 140-160 range but only had one in range so far and i hit a twig. i had a 120 8 pt cross at 10 yards but i let him walk. friday it is back to work for 6 days then i am off for 9 days to have shotgun season to hunt. hopefully i will at least shoot a doe during our gun week and get us at least 5 points.

Re: 7 - The Freezer Fillers finally saw the boy i was looking for and i blew it. had a 150" 9 pointer at 18 yards and i hit a twig and it deflected the arrow between his legs. will give it another shot sunday, got to watch my son tomorrow to give the wife a break.

Re: 7 - The Freezer Fillers been out and seeing deer but not one i am looking for yet. i had a 5 pt yesterday morning but i let him walk at 30 yards. today had a doe 2 yearlings come by but not a lane to shoot at them. also had a red fox but he busted me before i could get a shot off. i will keep trying.
