Hi Jim. My suggestion is to buy replacements blades instead of trying to sharpen them. I have tried to sharpen them without much luck. You have to pull the blades off to get to the front of the blades for one thing, and I never came close to factory blades.Now, there might be somebody in here who had had some success with sharpening them. If there is I would like to know also, and what they used for a sharperner. I was always afraid of taking to much off and ending up with an unbalanced head. Good luck though. too_pointer

wtn, that is a very reliable gun. I know several of my friends who have them and love them. I would of bought one but payed a little more for the Encore so I could switch barrels on it. too_pointer

Re: maximum range My longest shot with a coumpound was around 30 yards, which I picked as my limit. Now I have a crossbow, and if I feel I have the confidence to make a little longer shot, I might stretch that out to 35 or 40. I will never take a chance on a poor hit on a deer for anything. too_pointer
