  1. If you have a video editing program you can change the file type and/or reduce the quality to make it smaller. I change avi video to windows media and it will drastically reduce the size. Depends on what file format your phone shoots in. I use a combination of free programs and windows movie maker to get it done. One converts the video to a new file type (my camera files are not compatible with Movie maker) and movie maker edits (if needed) and will save a lower quality compressed file type.

  2. I've heard good things in the past about the browning, but have never seen one. I have a savage 12 ga bolt gun and it shoots lights out. The non detachable mag is the only real drawback. The new savage 20 ga bolt gun is supposed to be even better, but I have not gotten my hands on one yet. For half the money I would probably go with one of the savages.

  3. We were in the Stuttgart area. Four of us went from Iowa and we hunted with a few locals at times as well. Total for everyone who went with us was around 45 mallards, 2 Canadas, and a few snow geese. This was my third trip in the last 4 or 5 years and was by far our best.

  4. I have two brothers with Savage's (I load tested and sighted both in) and we have been pleased with them. They are done producing them though. The sales were not the best, although they didn't do a very good job getting the word out about them. I am sorry to see them go, it is down to a few custom outlets for smokeless muzzleloading now.

  5. I thought 160 when he was shot on the video, but he is a lot bigger when you get up next to him and see all the junk on the rack. As a main frame 10 he would gross 160 or better not counting 9 extra points with some of them being pretty long. Not sure about the 199 but he is well past 160 I would say. Either way it is a great deer.

  6. Party hunting is allowed in the November Antlerless-only, Shotgun 1, Shotgun 2 and the January Antlerless-only seasons. In muzzleloader and archery seasons party hunting is not allowed.

Some types of doe tags are county or zone specific so make sure you buy one legal for the area you plan on being in.

As stated before, if you want to use someone else's tag they must be hunting with you, not sitting at home waiting for your call. They must also be willing to put their tag on your deer, you will want to make sure of this before you shoot one. It can be a problem if you shoot a deer and the other guy doesn't want to use his tag for your deer.

  7. There has been lots of news about top researchers that have been manipulating data to make it look like global warming was happening. This is just one of many stories on this story.

Search the archives at the drudge report for lots more info. Global temps rise and fall, there is no evidence that man is causing it. If there was they wouldn't have to make it up.

  8. In general a gun must be shipped to a FFL. If you buy a gun over the internet you pay for it and they send the gun to the FFL that you have found to do the transfer for you. The FFL that you find will send the seller a copy of his FFL and then the seller will ship it. Make sure you find out the fee before you have the gun shipped as some FFL's have pretty high fees for transfers. You can go to gunbroker.com and do their FFL search for one in your area.

  9. Optical zoom is a lens as opposed digital zoom that just blows up the pixels. Both your camera and a SLR have optical zoom. 55mm is not a long range lens. What zoom does your camera have? I consider 300 mm to 400mm plus is for long range and getting a good SLR lens might take $1000 plus just for the lens depending on how fast it is. Pro quality lenses can cost 10 or 20 times that. A fast lens will be up to a couple feet long and weigh several pounds.

I also wanted a camera for long range and have been happy with super zoom cameras from panasonic, although many companies make them. My latest is an FZ35 with an 18X zoom. What makes it work is that it has image stabilization that helps with camera shake. Depending on your budget and needs a camera like that might work for you.

  10. I have heard of him, but never fished with him. I read his reports on http://www.lakestatefishing.com/modules/newbb/viewforum.php?forum=37 where he goes by "cateyepike". He seems to have a good rep around there. He fishes mostly fargo and grand forks area I think. I went to Canada this year with cats on the red (stu Mckay) and had a real good time. My brother and I caught around 7 or 8 that went from 28 to 32 lbs. I have fished around Drayton before and did good, but the Red in the US rarely compares to the Red around Lockport, MB although Fargo and Grand Forks did exceptionally well this year due to the high water.

  11. A liberal republican lost (actually dropped out) and the 3rd party conservative candidate came pretty close to winning over the blue dog democrat that won. I'd be worried if I was a dem and an unknown 3rd party candidate almost beat me. The republicans put up a terrible candidate and it cost them. It was so bad she dropped out early (still got 5% as her name was still on the ballot) and endorsed the democrat. If I heard right the dem was considered more conservative than the republican.

  12. He is pretty hard on animal rightists, even has an animal rights theme song. Perhaps he got HSUS mixed up with the local shelters like HSUS intended when they picked that name. I can see him supporting local shelters, but I've listened to him for years and he has never been supportive of the animal rights agenda that I have ever heard. Hopefully, we will get some clarification.

  13. Nikon makes a slide scanner attachment that will do 50 at a time but it isn't cheap. Other scanners have attachments as well but one a time so it isn't fast. There are also services that will do it for around .30 each at 3000 dpi. I would go this way depending on how many you have.

  14. Two of my brothers have the savages and they are happy with them. I did most of the set up and sighting in and they shoot alright. Some are getting tremendous groups at longer ranges but I have not been able to do it. They have no trouble killing deer though. The Savage can get a little heavy, but I will not be switching back to non-smokeless, you get used to it in a hurry.

  15. I have both an 835 and a M2000. I've had the stoeger for 5 seasons and the 835 for about 6. I use the 835 for turkey although when I patterned the 2000 with its turkey choke it was as good if not better. I used to have a browning bps and have not used it since the day I got my stoeger for any waterfowl or upland. I shoot the stoeger really well and my brother got one two seasons ago and my dad got one this season. I have not used the pump stoeger at all though. The M2000 is much lighter that the 835 if that is a consideration for you. It was for me.
