  1. My family and I are preparing to create a few food plots on some hunting ground. I would like to try and soak in as much information as possible before diving in too far, so I was wondering if you guys had any recomended reading materials to help us out? We have plans to talk with a local DNR rep who could help us out. I was telling the others that I always tend to find some good information here, so I would put some feelers out. Thanks!
  2. I guess I was also wondering if Scent Blocker and Realtree are going to continue their partnership. I stopped in at Gander Mountain yesterday and they had close to nothing when it came to Scent Blocker/Realtree garments.
  3. My wife is looking at buying me a scent blocker suit for my birthday this fall. My question is what's the biggest difference pros/cons of the fleece suits versus the non fleece suits? Would one be better for October 1-Nov. 30th hunting? (in the midwest)
  4. I just got mine and this is no joke, the first shot with it...and I bent a blade just shooting into my Block 4x4. I mean seriously, bent the blade with the first shot. Needless to say I questioned that but am going to try and get some replacements for it to see what happens then.
  5. I took a long tour around our family ground I hunt in Daviess Country (near the Glendale FWA) and came across a nice deer in one of the ponds we have. I too have heard of many other deer being located in similar situations. Hopefully it doesn't hurt the seasons too much.
  6. Yeah...who do we have to email to get the official release info?
  7. I've always used the 3 arm model, but I always have the darndest time getting it into the tree. Any hints on making that easier? But the arms on mine have never given me troubles.
  8. That sounds like a nice trade-off. Let us know how the new phone works out. Speaking of phones, does anyone have one of the newer treo phones? I am looking to replace my phone with a new pda/smartphone. Anybody?
  9. Does anyone know if I can ship a ML via UPS, FedEx, USPS without being a gun dealer?
  10. Has anyone heard of Cavalier Archery Products, more specifically the Avalance Extreme Drop Away Rest... http://cavalier.safeshopper.com/76/381.htm?877
  11. I have been shooting both Muzzy 3 blade and Montecs in 100 grain. It really is a toss-up with my bow and set-up. Just make sure you try a few so you know which ones fit you.
  12. I too am a Summit Man. Worth the money for sure.
  13. It was definitely sad news to hear. He had the football program headed back to where it really needed to be. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family on and off the field.
  14. Nice looking truck! It looks like you guys took some time to do it right.
  15. My family is preparing to build a new lake on their home property. It should be around an acre or a hair more...depends on how the ground works up. Anyway, any suggestions of literature or other informational reading I could check out before it starts. I get asked opinion questions alot and would like to educate myself a little more in the next month in terms of building/structuring/stocking ponds.
  16. Re: Signature Series Reels Have any of you seen these new redesigned Abu Garcia baitcast reels?
  17. I was told the other day that Quantum does not stock parts for signature series reels. Is this really true? You see their reels everywhere...like the KVD series at Bass Pro...I would hate to think that they wouldn't/couldn't fix it if something happened to it.

    Am I wrong...

Re: Am I wrong... The fence behind our house that I am shooting towards has nothing but trees and a small wooded lot. I understand what you guys are saying, but I wouldn't have been doing it if I had any concerns of being unsafe.

    Am I wrong...

...for shooting my bow in the subdivision in which I live. I have space in our fenced in yard for shots up to 30 yards. Today I opened the gate and shot a 35 and 40 yard shot, nobody around, but I was standing in the front yard shooting into the back yard. When I mentioned this to my wife she wasn't pleased with my decision. What do you think? Should I just stick to the 30 yard shots or can I open the gate and shot the long one when no one is around. I am interested to read your comments. Let me have 'em.
