  1. Re: Genesis bow? Why does not having a draw stop teach bad form? Draw to anchor the same and it does not matter. If you pull to anchor the same everytime you will have no trouble and for kids this is why you supervise them to make sure they are doing it correctly. Most bows still today to not have a draw stop, my MQ1 doesn't. The bows have the same KE as a 35 lb recurve and I promise you it is enough for most hunting situations. I have been thinking of trying to bag a doe with a genesis and shooting it instinctive.
  2. Re: Wood Ticks... 3 words for ya about tick control. Duranaon, Duranon, Duranon. This stuff flat out works. I picked 3 off of me after scouting turkey 2 weeks ago, treated my clothes with duranon and have not even had one crawling on me since.

    Paper Tune

Re: Paper Tune I hate to disagree with ya buckee but you know me . Not really disagreeing, just adding to it. Say you only paper tune at 3 yards and you get perfect tears. What if your arrow is indeed flying crooked but at the exact moment it goes through paper it is straight just for a milisecond when it is correcting itself. Shoot through paper at several different distances will let you know for sure. Buckee is right though, 90% of the time it is the close paper shots that are important but it don't take long to check at 10, 15 and 20 yards.
  4. Re: C\'Mon September... Season opening earlier this year in KY, September 5th. YYYYAAAHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
  5. Re: Climbing Sticks..... Cabelas here also. I am sure that there are better sticks out there but they work find for me and are cheaper costing.
  6. Re: Man, I smell like a Woman!!! That would be a good Cletus T. Judd song.
  7. Re: Do not know what to do? I hope everything works out but I have the feeling like he may indeed get custody again. That is how the law works. Just be there if he does and check up on him alot. If the father-in-law does indeed slip back into alcohol, you will be there to get your brother-in-law before something bad can happen. I'll be praying for you and your family.
  8. I love it when it is raining cats and dogs and they say we have a 70% chance of rain. Huh! With that being said, a weather forcaster is someone nobody ever thinks about until they are wrong. JMO. I would love their job though.
  9. Re: I miss you, Dad... I only hope that I can leave an impression on my son like your dad did with you. Thanks for sharing that with us.
  10. With a wrist strap release it should not really matter but the smaller the loop the more torque you can get. With a hand held release it need to be a bit long so you can twist it and not torque it.
  11. Re: New or Used??? I buy alot of stuff off of ebay. Most of what I buy is advertised as new in box. Like the Pentax binocs I got for 75 that are 200 in cabelas, or the Extreme sniper sight for 75 that is 120, or my new arrows that I paid 80 that are 120 at the cheapest place. It really does pay to shop around.
  12. Re: safety taught in schools Marky, maybe in some states, but not here in KY. One of my best friends is a 3rd grade teacher and loves to hunt and includes hunting in some of his lessons. There are also some teachers in here, Tominator for one. Here in KY we have a archery program that is very popular and headed by one of my friends. Several states are looking towards KY for guidance for starting their own programs. I think that it is good that schools are taking an incentive to teach that firearms are a dangerous tool. In some cases ignorance is not bliss and lets face it, some parents are ignorant about guns. I'm not getting in your face, I agree with some of what you say, that is just my take. I know that you and I will teach our children, it's the kids that have parents that could care less whom I'm worried about.

    Animation

Re: Animation Sorry Dete, I am terrible with names. Can you add animations to real photos? [ 12-05-2002, 09:26 PM: Message edited by: pinwheel5 ]
  15. Re: Releasing the riser I have never even heard of such but can imagine the pain. I drop my riser every shot, my wrist strap catches it. I think its funny when people grip their bow and use a wrist strap. Why bother? It just gets in the way if your not using it.

There used to be someone on here that could make you one but I can't remember his name, maybe someone else knows.
  17. Re: best tasting animal on the planet. Hard to beat beef, but shrimp aren't far behind.
  18. Re: What happened to the bucks? October lull and I hate it. If you all are supposed to get the high pressure cold front this weekend like we are in KY I would have better trust that you will start to see more buck activity in the day. At least, that is what I'm hoping for. Good luck.
  19. Re: Scrubmasters theme song! hilarious!
  20. Re: Some illegal things that don\'t make sense. Here in Kentucky it is illegal to walk down a street with an ice cream cone in your pocket. Seems that it use to be a tactic of horse theives. As far as snakes go, it erks me when someone kills a non-poisonous snake around here. They are the reason that there are so few poisonous snakes here. I have read that nobody has ever died frow a copperhead bite. I wonder if thats true? I don't want to find out the hard way!
