  2. Re: Are Bucks Starting Already yea well here is proof that the pre-rut at least is starting. My friend shot this main frame 8-point with four kickers on the brows last night with his horton crossbow. The bucks neck was swelled and his tarsels are not black but are really ripe with the smell. This pic is of the buck on a cuddleback trail camera.
  3. Re: Are Bucks Starting Already yea, i just thought it was weird for this time of the year. But im in the southern part of kentucky and everyone around hear is saying the rut will come in really early is guess because they think were going to have a bad winter.
  4. Re: What kind of hunting blind do you have? the double bull 360 is by far the best but expensive at a cost of 400.00 a pop. If your in the market for a cheaper blind that has excellent quality buy a groundmax pro 360. They have alot of windows and shoot threw mesh inserts. It have a carbon lined interior to suppress sent and so it has a good back drop. Either way I think you will be satisfied. But if your going for the best get a double bull matrix 360. heres a link http://www.doublebullarchery.com/
  5. Last night a friend toke his buck decoy out to just see if he could get a response out of a buck. I thought it was kinda crazy because its a little early for it but get this he had 4 does come in and they didnt pay any attention. Then 10 minutes later a big tall racked 8-point came in and hung around and didnt act intemidated and then just ran off. EG thought his hunt was over and about 5 minutes later the buck came running in the field and attacked the decoy. After the struggle EG made a 25 yrd shot to clame the deer. Thats a crazy story for this time of the year and with the cold front coming threw im not to supprized. Do you all think its to early for rutting activity?
  6. Re: make your own lumenoks Im not being nozy but just how do you make them anyway? that would be a heck of alot cheaper.

  10. Re: Im Puzzled yea it was a text book shot and i didnt really understand it either. We grided the area and made circles and i checked every pound on the mountain. It seems as if the deer just disappeared.

  12. Re: Matthews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute [ QUOTE ] I don't own either but from what I am seeing and hearing, its hard to beat the Switchback XT. Buddy has one and loves it!! [/ QUOTE ] I agree I have a Switchback XT and its the quickest and quitest bow that i have ever shot. My groups at 30 and 40 yrds have greatly improved. If you want something smooth and reliable get a Switchback XT

    Im Puzzled

I have been practicing all summer with my new Switchback XT. There was no doubt in my mind that when a big buck presented a shot I would have him on my wall. But when I got the chance a couple of weeks ago I absolutely smoked a 10-point about a 135 inch deer and I waited plenty of time and went to pick up the blood trail and there wasnt one. I didnt hit to high or anything it was right in the boiler room. The next day me and some friends went to recover the deer and we found nothing but the blood on the arrow. This has happened two times so I have come to the conclusion that im switching broadheads and going back to the sidewinders. I had the thunderheads in the 85 grain and they shoot great but ive lost two deer and thats enough for a change. What do you all think about it and the Thunderhead broadheads?
