So is anyone on our team going after longbeards with a bow or am I the only one stupid enough. Actually I sold my expensive specialized turkey gun because shooting them with a bow is such a rush. I don't care if I ever shoot another turkey with a shotgun again. There are always those toms that come in that you can't get a shot on with a bow that had you had the shotgun you would have. But for me that extra challenge is what makes it fun. I also call for a lot of people throughout the season so once it starts I may not be on here much. Here in Wi we can only hunt Wednesday thru Sun of our pre drawn season,so I will have a few days each week to update. But I spend a lot of time scouting,so I can keep friends and relatives on fresh birds. Good luck to all team members,have fun and be safe.

First of all let me say great buck. I love big old eights,score on a deer like that is irrelevant but if you are into the numbers. Remember nets are for fishing,I am gettin sick of scoring systems that deduct from what the animal has grown. The whole point of a "record Book" is to honor the animal then they deduct from it. Antlers should be scored as they are,not as we wnat them to be. Anyway awesome buck,great mass and spread and I am sure he was a cagey old critter GOOD JOB.

I got my first choice third season zone 19,and will be using my bow only again. I don't care if I ever shoot a turkry w/a shotgun again,it's so much more fun with a bow for me.

Since you seem to like NAP broadheads I would try the Spitfires or the Spitfire Gobbler getters in the same weight as your **** razors. You can't go wrong with a good expandable on turks with good shot placement. Well w/good shoot placemement any head should work. But expandables are the best for turkeys. Magnus also has a new head out called the Bull head. That thing looks awesome,tough and accurate from all reports. I would be getting the bullhead but I have a bunch of Spitfires and Rage 2 blades left. Thats another one that would be good for you Rage 2 blade very devastating on turkeys. One other thing is don't be afraid to put your dekes close to your blind,like 5-7 yards away. It may seem too close but if he hangs up,that gobbler may still be in range. Remember "Hit them high watch them die,Hit em low watch them go." Good luck and most importantly HAVE FUN.

There are a lot of great stringmakers out there,but Mathews is not one of them. You have a great bow,do not hinder it by putting a junk Zebra Barricuda string on it. I really don't understand how Mathews can make such a good bow and then put the worst string and cables in the industry on it.

You would be better off shooting your hellrazors than those gobbler guillotines they are junk. Go with what you are familiar with and you will be just fine.

Bow only for me also,I have shot so many with a shotgun that it's kinda routine. But everything is more fun to hunt with my Ross. I also call for a lot of friends and that is really the big rush for me. If I don't get a turkey it's no big deal. But if I fail to call one in for a friend I feel a little disapointed.

ROSS CR334 smooth draw,super quiet,and zero hand shock,this bow is just plain a shooter. I never thought I would quit shooting Hoyt's. Now I know I will always shoot a Ross. I am buying another 334 next week,and the new Cardiac this summer.

I like many of you like the way Realtree looks,we arent buying this stuff to appeal to the eye. The main objective here is to break up the human outline. The best camo brands for that are the "ugly" camo. ASAT,Predator,Sticks n Limbs. I love Realtree,but for my treestand hunting,which is 98% of my deer hunting,I will bee converting over to ASAT.

This may sound a little corny but here is my take. I always figure gross,because I like to give that animal credit for everything he has been given. Or another way to look at it,to me a big racked whitetail buck is the most awesome creature god put on the planet. Who are we to start messing with what is already perfect(deductions) in my eyes.

Congrats to your girlfriend,that buck is a pig body wise the rack is nothing to be ashamed of either. It's not always the buck with the largest rack that is the dominant buck in a area. I have seen bigger bodied more aggressive bucks with medium size antlers back down bucks that had a lot bigger antlers on more than one occasion. So your girl friend might have taken out the dominant buck in your area,judgeing by his beat up rack and body size. Just thought that would be something cool that if you didn't already know you could tell her.

If you do not own land and can not afford to buy land then a lease is a logical option. It kind of $ucks but hey things change. Either you roll with the changes or your SOL.

Seems like a easy one,if you have so many bucks on your land hold off on the does. Maybe just for the first day or two.

Do you only hunt one spot/stand? If so that could be part of your problem.
