  1. Glad to hear it muff....... Stress can do weird things and heat combined can really take its toll. I once passed out on my feet due to an inner ear infection. Bent over to pick something up and the entire world turned upside down, spun, and out I went. Luckily the bathroom door was closed or I'd have face planted into a full length mirror instead of the door jamb. New
  2. Yep, sucks my brother. Just be thankful for this...right now you lost your right to be senseless and do crazy things.....but soon you will lose your ability and that's a whole 'nother story my friend! I'd like to try skydiving and would love to have a bike some day as it looks like fun. I have zero worries I could drive it slow and safe enough that I could avoid problems. However, it's always someone else that does you in it seems. Those things will have to wait until I walk my girl down the isle. Then its midlife crisis time. New
  3. I'll try to say this as nicely as I can so as not to offend. When that little life named Cash came out and winked at you, you lost any and all ability to be doing dangerous things. Yes, I believe that when it is your time to go, you go. However, I also believe that if I attempted to tightrope walk across the grand canyon I could speed that process up....we are free will creatures. Sorry, if for no other reason than your Mother, Father, Wife, and Son, you should table this idea until your Son gets older and out on his own and perhaps your parents are gone. I hear people give the "when its my time its my time" argument and I somewhat agree. However, what if you are paralyzed and cannot work the job of yours which requires movement? People don't always die in these wrecks, they often end up being a burden to their families because they cannot move from the neck down. JMHO. Best of luck, New
  4. Very sorry to hear that...I don't get it. New
  5. Man, been there done that with a family member. You need to talk offline, give me a PM. People think they are only hurting themselves, but no one goes through addiction alone. Prayers sent New
  6. Oh man prayers sent, sorry to hear that. Here's hoping he's just being a goof and playing a joke. I just don't get it, that happens ALL THE TIME around here. Swimming or diving into a lake and never seen again. Are there giant catfish, fishing line, too shallow water, etc. I swim in pools all the time and never had any problems like this. Prayers sent. New
  7. One question for you hunt or be hunted.....Who owns those jobs you speak of? Do the employees own the jobs or does the employer own the jobs? New
  8. I don't know, it seems to be missing a little something. Have you considered incorporating a little wood into your architecture? That is a beautiful place.....truly amazing. New
  9. I guess that makes us even because I hate unions. IMHO nothing more than organized crime....I am all for fair wages and benefits but have no use for unions. I can't tell you how many calls I heard on financial planner radio shows from people with high school diplomas that took the auto buyouts to retire/be laid off and then found themselves jobs making the $70K a year they were making before. No offense to any here...union members are honorable people and some can't get jobs without joining for their particular field but as for the union machine..hate it. New
  10. It's too hot to hunt, that's what's going on in this thread! New
  11. Great looking picture.....I hope you and your wife are doing well. How's she doing? Just wait....they hit 1st grade and just go from there. It's jut a blur. New
  12. Okay, that's good news. Phew, I thought it was an immediate thing. Maybe the letter would help. I know that when my wife and I have had a couple disagreements, it helped for her to write a letter to let me know what she was thinking. If she tried to tell me face to face, I would interrupt to rebut where she was clearly wrong :bang: and we would get sidetracked. If nothing else, it allows you to say what you want to him. If he doesn't read it, at least you had the chance to say it. Best of luck my friend. New
  13. Man, I am very sorry to hear about that. When you say that your life is coming to an end, do you mean in the immediate term or just that you are getting older? I hope the latter. My Sister and I didn't have a great relationship. We weren't mad at each other, she just had some addiction issues and it was a great headache dealing with her at times. Addiction is nothing that anyone ever goes through alone no matter what. She died last November and I hadn't talked to her in a while. I regret every time I avoided her or just the way I treated her. The truth of the matter is that you cannot control anyone other than yourself. You can't make someone have a relationship with you. The best advice I can give you is to make sure that your conscience is clear. Perhaps you could write him a letter telling him what you think and how you feel. Then you can believe you have done everything in your power to reach him. Best of luck, I feel for you. New
  14. I think that as a man, you should say what you mean and mean what you say. Once it is out there, you shouldn't apologize for it. Knowing that Amabo was going to replace me, I think I would have came back to DC and said it to his face. Then I would have held a press conference to explain what I said and why I said it when I was done telling the disgrace of Pennsylvania Avenue what I thought of him. That's just my opinion. Over and out. New
  15. No point in continuing, DoubleA wins. Nice setup, I would stub in a room and just live there. New
  16. Hey all. Thank you for your prayers about my wife, her test came back 100% perfect. She still has to have the surgery on August 2nd but it will all be worth it when she's done. Praise the Lord, now maybe I can sleep a full night again! New
  17. Congratulations.....forget what all the books say and hold that baby all you can. We read all the books that said you will spoil them so we didn't hold our first enough. Hold him/her and kiss on them all you can. Congrats! New
  18. Congrats, she's a beaut and I love the name, my daughter is Isabel. Great looking family you have there. New

    Am I wrong?

I like you, don't know you but I really like you. Keep in mind that there are things which you have to do that you have no choice over. This isn't your choice or call to cut the hours so you have to do what you have to do. If you don't they will just get rid of you and find someone else to do it so standing up and bucking the system will not change anything. I think that if you explain the changes to them like you did us, your people will understand and appreciate your honesty. p.s. all of this feedback is null and void if you happen to be my boss...then you just SUCK! New
  20. Thank you all for your prayers and messages. It's great to have such a good bunch of people to help out in a time of need. I have faith that we will be okay. The test we had yesterday was just simply a natural progression in the normal course of treatment and a precaution to ensure that there is no cancer there. Still it is very unnerving when you hear that cancer is even a possibility even though the problems my wife is having are textbook symptoms of benign problems and very common. No matter how low the percentages of cancer are, someone has to be on the bad side of the statistics. The worst part is the week's worth of waiting. But she will be fine. Thanks again all. New
  21. Thank you all and hunter Bob. Her name is Lisa. New
  22. Hey all, My wife is having some problems. Today, we are going to have a biopsy to rule out cancer (all indications and tests make the doctor think otherwise but we wanted the test just as a precaution). After that it looks like she will be having surgery in early August but if this test comes back as pre-cancerous or cancerous, it's immediate surgery. This is my high school sweetheart, we met 25 years ago and have been married almost 18 years old. I am only 39 so that's 70% of my life I have been with this lady. She's my world and I am scared of the whole thing. Your prayers are much appreciated. New
  23. If I am lyin' I am dyin'.... I used to work in Vinings GA which is right next to NAS Atlanta/Dobbins AFB and I got to see the Blue Angels from a unique vantage point. I kept hearing these odd sounds like planes were in a dogfight one afternoon at about 3 PM right outside of our windows. I looked out and there goes an F18 right by the window....then I knew it was on. I wormed my way up to the 18th floor of our building out onto one of the corner office verandas (top floor, unoccupied). The blue angels were using our building as a turn around point. They came so close to the the building at such a slow speed, we could see the pilot's facial expression. This was the practice run and I would say they did it four or five times over two days before the Saturday show. It was AMAZING to see the show from that vantage point overlooking it all. New
  24. Tomorrow is Memorial day.... I look forward to celebrating the day that amabo is nothing more than a bad memory thanks to the voters. New
