  1. I have less than 2 weeks to go - 11 days. Pulled the camera this weekend and got one photo of the 10 point out of velvet. Here it is:
  2. Since we're sharing opinions.. I've been a part of the contest for at least 5 years.. and remember the contest was one of the things that I really enjoyed back when I first joined. Many new members surely feel the same and I don't think its fair to exclude them by putting a time limit or a higher post count requirement in place. Obviously there are some members with few posts, and some with many posts, who don't support the team aspect.. but, in general the contest has went on every year with success and everyone looks forward to it in future years. So things seem to be working well from my perspective. I think its a great part of the forums, it brings the new and the seasoned members together for a single purpose, fun. I'd hate to see it go, and I'm very appreciative of the volunteers that put it together each year.

  4. Fly, I like the signature (Thanks Luke).. never figured that would be such a big hit. haha. I like the blood drops under the name. So sinister.
  5. That thing has some crazy tine length. Great buck.
  6. Yeah those are great pics for an "el cheapo" walmart special. That IS lens definitely does good work. No noise in those photos either.
  7. Ruth - nice buck. I hope to see you take him, especially now that your doing so benefits our team!!
  8. sweet buck. good luck getting your shot! make it count before Googily makes you all Googily, haha.
  9. Good buck. That 'water hole' probably works wonders in the heat. Nice idea!
  10. Hi Jorden, there are a bunch of kits out there that have assembly instructions or the websites like Hag's House and Chasin' Game have some great info on building them. The sites that sell the camera building equipment also all have great info. I have a homebrew. They aren't too hard to do once you do some reading online. Just be sure to do a lot of reading until you understand what you're doing so you don't get ahead of yourself and mess up a camera hack! www.hagshouse.com www.chasingame.com www.whitetailsupply.com www.snapshotsniper.com
  11. What's up gang. Been a crazy weekend. Sorry for the late checkin. Looks like a good group for deer killin' glory. You guys (and girls..) can all pick the team name.. I'll go with whatever. My suggestion would be Team "Haunted Horns". My team came close to winning last year, but I've never been on the #1 team. Perhaps this year! I'm watching this decent 10, got him patterned so far at least, still 24 days until season. DSGB we were on a team I think back in '05. Anyway nice to see everyone checking in.
  12. Way to go on the lope Dakota! Great story, crazy what it took to put him down!
  13. Saw this on the news here.. My sister lives in Pittsburgh. Apparently the neighbors aren't pressing charges. lol. Lucky no one was hurt, given that, it is kinda amusing.
  14. Gotta agree with redkneck.. not sure on score, maybe 100-115 ?? Thats a good buck tho, I'd put him down.
  15. Holy smokes. Its rare that you see a 10" buck like that running around!
  16. Nice ones, and cool shedding photo. You need to hide in the brush with your pro cam Dave.. get some really good shedding pics!
  17. You are all nonbelievers. This is a true UFO photo. I've seen them before, and have experience on the topic. There are probably special mineral deposits in the soil they are interested in - usually deer like these minerals too. The aliens need minerals but often can't eat our food so they search for natural deposits. Another reason is you mention the powerline; I know that most alien spacecraft need energy to refuel once they've reached Earth. They can draw this energy from our own power sources. It might be a landing zone Don. I would keep a close watch on your camera - they may take it to investigate.
  18. This post should be on the sourpatch candy commercial. Only its sweet, then sour.. rather than vice versa... feel free to upload - share the fun.
  19. I love that buck. Nice to see some hardhorn pics, can't wait to pull my cam this weekend!
  20. I have a Sony P41 on a pixcontroller board, homebrew, I get about 2 months out of batteries, maybe 2000 pics or so?
  21. Sweet set up Steve. Good luck Tink.
