  1. Re: last night stand pics Looks good Tony. What part of Iowa are you in? Im about 30 miles East of Des Moines.
  2. Re: Trophy Ridge Yes Ive had one problem with it. I put it on my bow and didnt notice that it set lower than my old sight. My first shot the vanes cut 3 of the fiber optics. I started laughing because it was my own fault for not being a little more careful. But, I think that unprotected fiber optics looped out of the bottom is a flaw in the design of this sight that TR should have caught.
  3. Re: cool gun If it was issued in WW2 its a 1911 45 auto, not a 45 super. Let us know the make and we can get you close to a price.
  4. Re: Trophy Ridge I have the 5 pin micro matrix. I am not to fond of it. I love the vertical pins but the way the fiber optics stick unprotected out of the bottom of the housing is bad news. The sight guard is plastic! Trophy Ridges customer service stinks. I expect a little more quality in a sight in this price range.

    Snakes

Re: Snakes Snakes dont bother me at all. I did get bit by a Timber Rattler once when I stepped on it. Lucky for me I was standing too close to the head for it to get over my boot. I leave them alone and they leave me alone.
  6. Re: Kimber Handguns... They are well worth the money. Mine will put 5 shots in 1.5 inches at 50 feet with my reloads. Fit and finish is second to none and they work well right out of the box. If you get one let us know how you like it.
  7. Re: anyone here from Iowa and where at in Iowa Newton Iowa about 30 miles east of Des Moines.
  8. Re: Near Death Experiences... Yes but did you land the fish?
  9. Re: bowhunting geese.. Check your local laws before you go. Geese are a Federal Migratory Game Bird and cant be hunted with a bow here in Iowa.
  10. Re: Just recieved old bow from freind, ADVICE???? I would go with the GoldTip carbon arrows. You will like them.

    Rednecks

You Might Be A Redneck--Another View Point... We have endured redneck jokes for years. It's time to take a reflective look at the core beliefs of a culture that values home, family, country and God. If I had to stand before a dozen terrorists who threaten my life, I'd choose a half dozen or so rednecks to back me up. Tire irons, squirrel guns and grit -- that's what rednecks are made of. I hope I am one You might be a redneck if: It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, "One nation, under God." You've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public places. You still say "Christmas" instead of "Winter Festival." You bow your head when someone prays. You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem. You treat Viet Nam vets with great respect, and always have. You've never burned an American flag. You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter who is listening. You respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same. You'd give your last dollar to a friend.
  15. Re: S&W 500 Legal for hunting in IL??? Yes the 500 is legal in Il.

    VALOR!!!

Re: VALOR!!! Thank you is all I can say. God bless!
  17. Re: Coffee.. Hot and black, strong enough to float a horseshoe on!
  18. Re: tree stand accident LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Re: Copper John sigts vs. Trophy Ridge your thoughts I own both sights and I think the CJ is by far the better sight! You would think that TR would use a little more metal instead of plastic, and the fiber optics should not loop unprotected out of the bottom of the sight housing.
  20. Re: Pope and Young? I think they raised the entry score to 150 this year?
  21. Re: Barrel corrosion? I think you can buy them at Brownells. They are a jag & screen that are driven down the barrel to scrape the lead out of the bore.
  22. Re: deer hunting gun I would look at a 41 or a 44 myself. The 357 is a bit on the small side but will work well with shots at reasonable yardage. I would stay away from the 45.
  23. Re: Barrel corrosion? It almost sounds like lead build up to me. Try running a remover screen down the barrel. I would not run a brush on a drill in a barrel! ( No offense to my buddy Horst) This will round off one side of the lands. I think Outers makes an electric lead remover also. Good luck!
  24. Re: ur gun Ruger Super Redhawk 44 mag Dan Wesson Pointman 45 S&W 586 357 AMT Back up 380 Ruger Mark 1 22 Browning Buckmark 22
  25. Re: mountain lions in Illinois I think I would leave it alone. Its just another hunter that kills for food. Where do you draw the line? Should every animal that is higher on the food chain than us be wiped out? Should we allow all bears to be shot on sight because some people are afraid of them? I think if a single animal becomes a problem it should be killed. I have no problem killing anything in defense of my family or home, but I dont kill something that might be a problem someday, or because it scares me. JMHO
