He didnt have a real big body and it represented a 2.5 in the stance and nose to eye length looked shorter then most 3.5's Hes got great genetics for a 2.5 though. I decided that Im getting him mounted, I brought him to the taxidermist last night so he will be on the wall;)

Got him friday night, he wasnt chasing does just feeding along on acorns. I shot him at 15yds and he went no more then 50yds and fell over in sight. When i first seen him on stand I thought he was a 3.5yr old but hes only a 2.5 Hes 17" wide, 4" brows and longest tine is 7" The only thing I have left to decide is wether or not Im gonna mount him....watchya all think:confused:

Re: Illinois Hunting I hunt just two counties to the southeast of Shelby, some great hunting around here. I know quite a few people who hunt shelby themselves, I have seen alot of great bucks come from there. Knowing you will be here 10-13th you should be right around the best time to be in the woods! best of luck
