I still have til the end of the month. I have not entered my other deer yet, still holding out hope that I'll get something bigger.

Nice bucks sky and TG! I still haven't entered mine. Hoping I'll kill a better one. I did kill a doe the day after Thanksgiving, but haven't seen too many older bucks. We're covered up in yearlings, though. The rut should start up here pretty soon!

Congrats jm on your first archery buck! Congrats on the doe sky! My quota hunt was last week, but I came home empty handed. I saw plenty of deer and passed on a 2.5 yo, 100-110" eight pointer on the second day. I killed one just a bit bigger on the same hunt last year, so I was holding out for something better. He ended up getting shot the next evening about 200 yards from me. I 'bout fell out of my stand when the guy shot. He came in from another direction and we were hunting opposite sides of a creek bottom. I saw the same doe with twin fawns three days in a row, as well as four smaller bucks that weren't legal (had to have three on one side).

Congrats fly and sskybnd! Alabama bow season opened last Thursday, but I wasn't able to go until Saturday. At 8:30 I had three small bucks sneak up behind me in the wind, but they passed just out of range. About 30 minutes later, one of them came back and gave me a 27 yard shot. The slick trick did it's job! This is the first deer I've killed with the PSE Stinger I bought last year. As soon as I get a picture of the tag, I'll have him entered.

No luck! I only saw three deer and two of those I jumped walking out the first morning. The other was a fawn that fed around in the creek bottom I was hunting. I was hoping momma would show up, but she never did. Acorns are falling everywhere, so the deer don't have to go far. Add to that the fact that this piece of land gets a lot of pressure (heard six trucks drive by after I was in the stand on a wednesday afternoon).

We are finally getting some cooler weather down here, so I plan on taking the next two days off to hunt some public land.

Congrats on your first bow kill! Pacelli, huh? You always hunt in khakis? LOL

No deer for me opening weekend. I didn't get to go Saturday morning, cause my wife had to work. Sunday morning it was humid so I was sweating my butt off and didn't even see a deer. I hung a lock-on stand on the property I hunt in Alabama and checked my camera while I was there. Got a picture of decent eight pointer that I believe was a six pointer last year that I passed up on Thanksgiving day. Hopefully I'll get a shot at him when Alabama bow season opens next month.

When I saved the file, the default name came up as hauntedhorns.gif, although the file type was JPEG. Before saving it, just change the name from hauntedhorns.gif to hauntedhorns.jpg and leave the file type as JPEG.

DSGB checking in! My name is David, BTW. I kinda like the name Lucky Buckaroos that fly suggested, but whatever y'all decide on is fine with me. I hunt in Georgia and Alabama, but do most of my hunting in Alabama once the season starts over there. Bow season in Georgia opens this weekend and I'll be hunting public land. Once Alabama opens next month, I'll be hunting my grandfather's land over there, for the most part. I did get drawn for a quota hunt in GA for the first week of November. I killed an eight pointer on the same hunt last year. I'm not gonna promise to kill a huge buck or anything, but I can almost guarantee I'll contribute points to the team.

Got a little help from the refs, too, but I doubt it would have changed the outcome. Georgia's offense couldn't get going after making that first drive seem easy. The defense did a great job of containing Robinson and Bryant, for the most part. Dez made an awesome catch for that first TD. That personal foul call was bogus and couldn't have come at a worse time. However, turnovers and special teams play was the difference in the game.

Bwahaha!! Head-to-head SEC is 92-72-6 against Big12 since 1920. Only three SEC teams with a losing record and only four Big12 teams with a winning record. (OSU is 3-9) SEC is 72-63-6 against Big10 since 1920 Only four SEC teams with a losing record and only four Big10 teams with a winning record. (OSU is 3-11-1) The SEC has more bowl wins and a higher winning percentage than anyone else (based on historical conference affiliation and current conference affiliation). It's really not even close.

Thanks! I drop in every now and then. Don't post much, but I do read through most everything.

It's a neighborhood lake here in Columbus. I was throwing a white Terminator T1. You come on down and we'll give it a try. I went back with a friend of mine this past weekend and we didn't catch a thing.

I haven't posted over here in a while, but I had to share these fish I caught last weekend. I decided to go to a local lake I have permission to fish. I caught what was my personal best 6.5 lb bass out of there a few years ago. I missed a good fish on the second cast and was sorta upset, thinking I had blown my chance of catching a nice one. 20-30 minutes later I threw my spinnerbait in the same spot and caught this 5 lb'er. A little later, a bass hit my spinnerbait like a freight train. As soon as I set the hook i knew it was a good fish. Shortly after, it came completely out of the water. I mean a good 12-18 inches! That's when my heart started pounding, cause I knew this was going to be the biggest bass I'd ever caught. After working the fish and trying not to horse it too much, I landed my new personal best bass at about 9 lbs. If that wasn't enough, I went back the next morning and caught another 5 lb'er.

I doubt it, but you never know. Everyone else was doing it! I'd be willing to bet Andruw Jones did it before Chipper.

I'm still hanging in there. I killed a doe during Christmas break and got my brother-in-law his first deer ever - a 1.5 yo six pointer that's now in my freezer. Haven't seen any bucks worth shooting. It's getting tough to get up and go when you have a freezer full of meat. Regardless, I'm still out there every chance I get. Got a couple weeks left, but it's not looking too promising. Most of the mature deer have gone nocturnal and will be almost impossible to kill - unless a hot doe makes them do something stupid.

Prayers sent from Georgia!

Looks like they're going after Burnett, as well.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3760099 Nothing official yet, but it looks like a done deal. Will this have an impact on the Gators in the NC game? Sorta like when Georgia hired Richt from Florida State (who happened to also be playing OU).

None of the above. He won't be drafted in the first round, so he'll give up football to become a missionary and perform surgeries on kids in Africa. JK..........JK I would think he'd be a better tight end than anything. Who knows in todays sports world. He could be drafted as a QB for the Lions or somebody like BB11 says just to sell tickets.

Way to go Dosse! That's a nice buck! Kudos to you hogdawg for doing what you thought was the right thing!
