I took the day off of work yesterday and went deer hunting in Alabama. Didn't see any deer, but just before dark, a group of hogs worked past me down in the creek bottom. I was hunting the edge of a clearcut in a box blind and heard them come up the creek when one let out a bloodcurling sqeal.
We've been seeing where they've been rooting around, but no one has actually saw any.
I got out of the blind and went to cut them off. Just as I got to where I could get a shot, they came filing through. I don't know if they smelled me or what, but they turned around and started heading back the other way. I picked out the biggest one, but there was a smaller one blocking the head, so I shot it behind the shoulder. She ran about 35 yards.
My grandfather helped me drag her to the road and load her up in the pouring rain and I snapped a couple pics before I had to head to the processor with her before they left.
