  1. Caught this one just a little while ago. I was hoping the crappie were biting, but after not getting any bites, grabbed a spinner bait and threw around the dock. On the second or third cast, I hooked a decent 2.5-3 lb. bass. It threw the hook when it jumped about two feet in front of me. I came back to that spot later and threw to it from the opposite side. This one hit it on the third cast. Pulled some drag off my pole! I didn't weigh it, but it was 19" long.

    2007 P&y: All 3 pics

    Beautiful buck! Congrats!
  3. They're calling for high's in the 80's and lows around 72° this weekend, with a chance of showers. Looks like I'll be going fishing. Next weekend is looking a little better, with lows around 63°. Come on cooler weather!

Are you drooling on the keyboard?
  5. Yep, that's the guy. One Jones replacing another? I'm not sure if Harris has what it takes to play center. Yes, he can track the ball down, but he doesn't have a strong arm. They could possibly get Rowand for a year or two before bringing Jones up.
  6. He wanted too much money. With the year he had this year, there is no way I would sign him to the kind of deal he was looking for. I believe he is the best center fielder in the game, but he hurt the Braves with his bat in a lot of clutch situations this year. Yes, he still hit 26 homers, but I'd rather see him hit pitches the other way and get base hits. I believe with the weight he's put on to try and be a power hitter it has affected his play. He may improve his batting average next season, but who's to say he will or not. I hate to see him go, but it's not the end of the world. I just hope they can get some decent pitching with the money that they'll save and that they can sign Teixeira after next season, cause he is one of the reasons they chose not to sign Andruw. They have a guy in the minors to play center field, I'm just not sure he'll be ready next season. They may sign someone short-term to give him time to develop in the minors.
  7. The SEC East is their's to win or lose! Their quarterback is perhaps the best in college football.
  8. Congrats guys!! My name is David and I'll be hunting in both Georgia and Alabama. Bow season has been open in GA for a few weeks now, but I've only been out a few times cause it's been so hot. I'll have from now until the end of January. I can kill two bucks in GA (12 does) and three bucks in AL (two does per day), so my chances are good. I won't promise a monster, but I should tag at least one buck. I usually kill three or four does a year. Good luck to everyone!!
  9. Look at the belly on that rascal! That's a dandy buck!
  10. Great looking mounts! That's a nice problem to have.......running out of room.

    My '06 Mount

    Great buck! Lots of character!
  12. Way to go! Did you weigh either of them? There were a couple biguns killed just south of here where I do most of my fishing. http://forum.gon.com/showthread.php?t=134507
  13. I have one of the Gorilla Full Body Harness vests that I'm using this year. It is a little heavy, but I like how the straps go around your thighs instead of your crotch. It's easy to use and comes with a lineman's belt and another strap to use with climbers.
  14. When we used to go during the summer, we would rarely see them in the cove, but would see them in the mountains near the balds. The last few times we have gone in the fall, we have seen more in the cove.
  15. Cades Cove is an 11 mile scenic loop road in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park located on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina in the Appalachian Mountains. There are a lot of historic buildings from the 1800s, mainly cabins, smokehouses, barns, churches, and mills. You can drive through it, ride a bike, or walk. There are trails that begin in the cove and campgrounds, as well. Many animals can be seen in the cove, including deer, black bear, turkeys, coyote, bobcats, and domestic horses. Since it is in a National Park, there is no hunting and the animals are not afraid of people.

    awsome artwork

That's pretty creative right there! Has anyone seen the movie House? Or was it House II? That's what those horses remind me of.

    Caption game.....

Billy was horrified when he heard that the Bulldogs had lost to South Carolina without scoring a touchdown. The news came "straight from the horses mouth."
  18. I talked my wife into making the 2.5 mile hike to Abrams Falls. There were a lot of folks there, so getting pics without people in them was a challenge. I took this from right next to it. I backed up a little once everyone cleared out. Yes, the guy on top did dive off. One of the dozen or so smallmouth I caught. All about the same size. I also caught my first trout ever, a native brook trout, but the camera was on the other side with my wife and there was no talking her into crossing by herself, so I let it go before too long.
  19. I have no idea what kind of spider this is, but if I ran into him walking to my stand in the morning I'd be scarred for life. The leaf he is on is easily as big or bigger than my hand.
  20. We saw more bucks than last year, but none bigger than an eight pointer. This doe and her fawn were in the thicket one of the bears disappeared into. They came flying out of there! Nice six pointer in a bachelor group with an eight and smaller buck. The eight. Both I walked up to about 15-20 feet from this guy. Notice the tick. Same buck, different day. There were probably 25 people standing within' 15 feet of him taking pictures. He brought a smaller buck with him. This was the biggest buck we saw - rack wise. He stayed way out in the field.
  21. We saw a ton of turkeys this year! This was an ol' boss tom that stayed right there (the other four gobblers made their way across the field) until all the hens were past him. The other four. Flock of hens. I'm not sure if they were picking bugs out of the grass or eating seeds, but they would look straight up and swallow whatever they were eating.
  22. My wife and I saw six bears in ours trips to Cades Cove while we were up there. The first was the biggest and also came the closest. I didn't get any great shots of him since he was on the passenger side and I was driving. I saw this guy sneakin' around the woodline. He never came out in the open. I had to hurry to get ahead of him and cut him off before he went down into the creek bottom. On our last trip through, we saw a momma and cub foraging through some dead wood for bugs. This was the best shot I got.
  23. Nice pot belly on that big fella.
  24. I believe that is correct. That's why I don't get it when someone tries to say something about who another team has scheduled.
