  1. this will be my second year of bow hunting. last summer i bought a Parker Trailblazer XP to get me started. my buddies were Parker fans so I decided to go that route. Boy was I happy! Talk about bang for your buck! A doe fell victim to my first bowkill last November. The Parker does work. Check it out. parkerbows.com
  2. A Nonresident hunting in Indiana would pay: $150 - buck only can also purchase: $150 - first doe $24 - each additional doe after $150 doe (counties have different doe limits) http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/2380.htm
  3. yea guys, the archery shop glued the nock to my CARBON arrows... i will try soaking it in boiling water today. thanks for the advice.
  4. Hey everyone, I have a nock on the end of an arrow not properly aligned. When I try to turn it nothing happens. Looks to be glued pretty good. What do you all do to remove a glued arrow nock?
  5. Same here. Send em a RRRRRRAGEEEEEEEE. you wont be let down.
  6. this was my first year in the NWTF and served on our chapter's banquet committee. I endorse the NWTF 100%, its a great way to meet other hunters. I have became close friends with a couple of them and they actually helped me harvest my first wild turkey this spring. For college students membership is only $10 and that includes the 6month subscription to Turkey Call, the magazine. Well worth my money! join the nwtf!
  7. bearded hen down! now thats cool right there. congrats
  8. Ladies and Gentlemen...I am reporting with great news that I have harvested my first wild turkey. I have been patterning these birds all spring and finally...the ball rolled my way and I put a whoopin' on a big Indiana Gobbler. I harvested him May 8th, 2009, my first day after final exams had been completed for the year. My hunting buddy and I were seated in a Double Bull blind on the edge of a cut cornfield well before daylight. We threw a couple of hen decoys out in front of us and waited for day break. The morning turned out being foggy and wet, perfect for field hunting. We started with some soft calling and within an hour I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. There were 2 gobblers and 2 jakes all beginning to feed out into the field just 10 yards from our blind. I didnt have the right angle for a shot so my buddy and I played musical chairs in order for me to get a good shot off. It was complete chaos in the blind haaha! Their heads weren't lit up at all as we believe the gobblers arn't in their "rut" anymore. At 25 yards the largest of the 4 birds paused to eat. I am happy to say I completely smoked him with the lethal combo of my Mossberg 535 and a 3.5" Winchester turkey load of 6's. It was AMAZING! I am totally hooked! He ended up weighing 21.5lbs. Had 30mm (1.18in.) spurs and had an 11in. beard! I am getting a tail fan mount.
  9. woohoo! another reason to shoot more deer! i already miss november...
  10. good pics! is this for your job?
  11. had 3 bucks in my yard this past Saturday night. All had antlers on their heads still. Keep me updated with your progress.
  12. im seeing 3.5 year old. nice deer!
  13. Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals ride this high wave of emotion to VICTORY over the Steelers and their "terrible towels." AZ 31 - pitt 24
  14. Manny in a Cardinal uniform would be amazing! He is one of the best clutch sluggers in the game right now. the key point here is "right now". There is definitely NO WAY the cards will be able to meet his "needs" of 5 years @ $25 million a year. Way too much money for his years of age 38-43. would be cool though. but not a serious conversation.
  15. Hey guys, I'm away at IU for college right now and my mom gave me a call tonight. Turns out my freezer broke (dont know when) and she just opened it up today. All my venison from this years public land doe (first bow kill ever!) went bad... over 50lbs of burger and steak. What a bad night. Have to wait till October 1st....2009. Eat a steak for me. :(:(
  16. i agree with you all that Kent will be in the Hall. I also agree with Jeff that it was time to hang it up...the game was passing him bye.
  17. how do you correctly match up the stiffness of the spine and the draw weight/draw length? is there a rule of thumb for this?
  18. Hey bloodbrothers and sisters, arrow question for ya. I just completed my first bow season. I had some luck as I harvested a mature doe here in Indiana. I shot her with my Parker Bow set at 60lbs with a 29" draw length. I used 30" Carbon Express Predator II arrows weighing in at 8.9gpi with 100 grain Rage 2 broadheads. Here's my dilemma: I plan on upping my draw weight a tad to 62 or 63#. According to the Carbon Express website, I should move up to the 6075 arrow size (instead of the 4560) which would bump me up to 9.8gpi (if I select the Predator II's) or 11.3gpi (if I select the CE Rebel Hunters). Here's my question for you'all... what will this change in arrow weights do for my deer hunting? Will I benefit from the switch. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  19. beauty 8 point mountaineer buck congrats to ur bud
  20. I have never used them but they look so good and easy to use on TV. I have been looking through Cabela's trying to find a pack for my Carbon Express Predator 2 carbon arrows. What brand do you shoot (Burt Coyote Lumenock?, G5 G-Force?, Easton Tracer?) and what do you like the most about them? Would you recommend them to a fellow archer? Are they easy to use? Thanks for the time.
