Re: Canadian Guides Get Bad Rap There are bad apples all over the place and they seem to ruin it for all the good fellas out there.I've heard some horror stories about some US guides also.Also alot of fenced hunting going on in the states.Pay alot of money and walk up to the deer and shoot it.Not thats called having a bad rep.Talk about bad ethics.

My grandfather used to get me sweatshirts with deer,bear,moose etc.i would never wear them because they weren't brand namae.Now I am older and no longer worry about that kind of thing.Its been 8 years since my papa left us and I miss getting those sweatshirts.Most of all I miss the great man who used to buy me the presents.He looksw down on us and I hope he can see he's not forgotten and he has two beatiful great grand daughters.

Re: should hunting over bait be legal? so when you hunt deer in Iowa you don't hunt trails leading into the big cut or uncut corn fields(BAIT)??Do you hunt right on the field itself(bait)???What ever way you want to look at it most all hunters key in on some sort of food source(bait) to harvest their deer.

I own a Rem. 700 30-06.Its my favorite gun and calibre.Best all around rifle in my opinion.Accurate as any rifle on the market,or better.If I were to be able to hunt elk I would take it no question about it.Its a great short range and long range shooter.I wouldn't hesitate to take a shot out to 350yards(my max range for feeling comfortable with).I have shot deer from 15 yards out to 320 yards.None went more than 50 yards.Lots of power for most any big game animal in North America.You got knock down power,short and long range and ACCURACY.What more could you ask for in a rifle??

I agree with you there UCS!!Kind of a harsh and untrue statement,but it is only his opinion and he's entitled to it.Thats how he labels people I guess.Hunters have used food sources to kill their prey for generations.So therefore in his opinion any deer shot while eating something would be considered hunting over bait and considered shooting not hunting?????LOL thats funny.To each his own if its legal so who are we to judge someone else who follows the law.

Thanks Again everyone!!This is an awesome experience,I've never felt anything like it.I have so much love for those two little beauties.We have been home since Saturday and its going really good so far.They are not identicle twins but are so very beautiful!!!.Momma is doing awesome as well.She is handling our first children like a seasoned veteran.Thanks for the kind words.

Re: should hunting over bait be legal? "feeding deer in the winter " Doc,that article has to do with feeding deer in winter not baiting. I can't see why baiting would even be needed in some places in the states or Canada.There are well over a million deer in some states,I doubt it would be very hard to get a deer.Heck we only have about 50 000 deer here in N.S. and its not hard to get a deer.I can see why baiting in places with large numbers of deer is illegal for fear of spreading some deseases.Even in place with low deer numbers that fear is still present.Someone else said in this thread that DNR biologists would know where baiting is ok to do and the laws are set.If its legal go for it if its not don't do it.Nothing wrong with it and it doesn't make anyone less of a hunter than someone who stalks one down.Its far from a guarantee!!!

Re: how often to you guys buy new bows Oh about once every 15 years.I got a new one two years ago and had the one before that for 15 years.Both PSE and have been great bows,no problems what so ever.I want to buy a longbow or recurve or try making one real SOON!!!!!

Hey guys!!!We have a couple new additions to the family up here in Atlantic Canada!!!Born on Feb.20 2006.Claire Nicolle and Abigail Constance.Been a busy week to say the least but WELL worth it.Claire weighed 5.lbs 15.5oz. and Abiagil weighed 6.lbs 14.5oz..We are so very proud of our new precious gifts.

Re: Deer dropping horns already! I found a real nice 5 point shed last year on Dec.5.So it is very possible.I believe it has more to do with hormones and the rut being done than anything else.

Re: deer limits? 1 deer,buck only unless your drawn for a doe tag.Still only one per season.
