Looks like its going to happen here people....Dan may be allowed outside to play I am donating a Treestand bow holder, Ameristep Turkey Blind, and a package of HS Fresh Earth Scent Wafers to the winner of the Archery Tournament. Thanks NY Buck for the get-together meeting/hunting site!!!
  3. Re: NY Round Up? Where? Wigs, If you start hunting this coming weekend....instead of the weekend of Oct. 1st....we may just have to come and visit you in jail!!!! As far as I know the get-together will be on the weekend of the 1st of October.
  4. Re: NY Round Up? Where? You can hunt at verona beach???? Hunting - DEC Permit Only That would be on the east side of hwy 13. This has been one of those highly kept secret things around here. From what I have been able to get info on.......still is. I have had people(locals) tell me about hunting there...most say: 30-45 deer sighted each day. I personally can attest to the fact that driving in the area should be done at a reduced speed to prevent accidents from car/deer collisions. Also it is a really nice place to see bucks feeding, during the hunting season, right by the road. So if anyone is wondering where they have gone to when the season starts....it seems they have all "Went to the Beach" for some R&R
  5. Re: NY Round Up? Where? [ QUOTE ] I can smell Gw's turkey now... GW where did you shoot that big TOM???? Was that one of NY's great birds of spring? [/ QUOTE ] Dave, You are completely aware of the FACT that that bird was taken while being guided by one of New Yorks finest hunting guides(who needs to seriously consider getting licensed as such)... SUMMERFLOWER Buddy you gave me that bird on a silver platter that day, took me to the spot, knew where and when they would be there, and called them right past me for the shot. I dont know about other people but I will be grateful for the rest of my life for what you did that day...wonderful trophy....which by the way will be at the NY Forum round-up after being cooked and made into a turkey salad for sandwiches. I can not think of a better way to honor such a fine trophy turkey than to share it with all the hunters who show up at the get together. GW where did you shoot that big TOM???? This is a test isnt it.....LOL I'm sorry people.......Top Secret I could tell people where....but then I would have to kill them
  6. Re: NY Round Up? Where? "SHE IS CONVINCED THERE WILL BE WOMEN OF ILL REPUTE THERE!" If they do show up by some freak plane accident or something...they will be the loneliest people on the face of the planet........... GOOD GOD MAN...HUNTING IS INVOLVED HERE!!!!! Personally....I Dont have the time or the inclination! We will have the best food in the northeast thats for sure!!! I dont think that anyone will go away hungry with the amount and variety we will have availible. Epic, Tell your wife she has nothing to worry about....Except in being included in on one of the following: Deer Drive Food Preparation(Guys do the dishes<-------- we will have photos to prove it and these photos can be framed for future use as evidence by wives against their husbands....LOL) Photographer (in the event one of us actually sees a deer or bear and actually gets a shot) Nurse....only if Epic gets a boo-boo

  9. Re: NY Round Up? Where? NYBuck, I have been thinking it would be great to meet as well. We all live in relatively close enough mileage to get together. So far I believe that the dates are somewhere around October at your cabin or spring/summer somewhere. I'll be there....someone has to keep law and order.....LOL....I nominate YOU
  10. Re: NY Round Up? Where? I would say Sylvan Beach on the east side of Lake Oneida...possibly at the state park in Verona Beach(like maybe a whole 1 1/2 miles further south on hwy 13) But then again I'm a little biased Verona Beach State Park Box 245 Verona Beach, NY 13162 Phone: (315) 762-4463 Verona Beach State Park, located on the eastern shore of Oneida Lake, is a picnicker's and camper's delight. Shaded picnic areas and the campground are adjacent to the beach with an excellent view of the water. The lake, Black Creek, cattail marshes, and bottomland hardwood swamps give Verona Beach one of the most diverse aquatic habitats in the Central Region, and well worth a hike on the "Woods and Wetland" nature trail. The winter season hosts snowmobilers, cross-country skiers and ice fishermen. The eastern portion of the park is open for hunting deer, small game, and waterfowl, in season. Hunting - DEC Permit Only Directions: Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse: Thruway (I-90) east to exit 34 (Canastota); Rt.13 north to park entrance. 11. Re: Scrubmasters theme song! Boom...Boom...Boom...... "Some hunters wanna tell you that old bucks..... Taste just as good as a scrub. So they pound it, and beat it, then make jerky just to eat it! Some say jerky's where its at. Well, I ain't down with that! Cuz ham's are good and shoulders are kicking, and tenderloin's fingerlicking!"...Boom...Boom...Boom I cant stand rap....and I'm Rollin on the Flo.... Thanks....Now I have to see a doctor soon.....I was about half way through that and the sound of the tune came into my head.....after that all I could see is a flathead struttin along a bean field with a bouncing butt...I'll have scar's for life(i just hope that tune does not come back into my head when I'm at full draw....I'll bust out laughing) As I attempt to close this reply....all I can hear is Tone Loc doing "Wild Thing" and picturing a doe walking into a shooting lane like a hooker...Say What!!!

    Ok! Admit it......

Re: Ok! Admit it...... Honestly...it took awhile to get used to it. I can remember when I would carry the light with the most candlepower into the woods and be at the truck before the sun was completely down. I geuss sometime in the past I got over it realizing that the weapon in my possesion was all I needed.....and staying in the stand until after dark made me get used to using what ever night vision I had availible....most of the time I walk out with a small mag-light hanging off of my backpack now. I turn it on and try not to look at it much, point it at my compass(to charge its glow in the dark capabilities), and loop it on my pack....with it up front it ruins my night vision
  13. Re: What do you do While on Stand [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Look for deer. [/ QUOTE ] Me too [/ QUOTE ] Boy I'm glad to hear that Ken...Your after "Me Too"......For awhile there I thought we were after the same deer.....I'm looking for "That One". Actually I just watch the show and try to figure out if that leaf in the distance was a deer moving its tail or its ear flicking. That and watching out for attacking chipmunks that have ran me over this past year(literally over my leg twice while in a ground blind) like it was the state wildlife game they play or something
  14. Re: WE CAN NEVER FORGET!!! I'm still a mess....cant make it past this part without falling to pieces....
  15. Re: Moron Post**Resurrected [ QUOTE ] Hi my name is Bruce ..............................................................................and I'm a moron. [/ QUOTE ] Hi Bruce........Welcome And now the reading of the montra...or whatever: 1.We admitted we were powerless over....Morons! 2.Came to believe in a power greater than ourselves that could protect us from other morons! 3.Made a searching and fearless moron inventory of ourselves....and found out we were also morons! 4.Gave up ever having anything other than moronic thought processes which required some type of medication that we could buy cheaper in Canada but will be stopped at the border by some overbearing female border patrol officer who believes its her responsibility to rid the world of people who exercise their right to save what little cash the government lets them keep after taxes and who have said that its their right to tell the drug companys to jump in the river until they bring the prices back down to something reasonable or they start paying the household bills completely which of course they are not going to do in this lifetime so.....They are the Morons! LOL...got a little carried away there for a moron
