Re: Sharpening the Montec 100gr. i use their sharpening bar. i press kinda hard on the coarse side and i rub kinda light on the fine side. make sure to use the same amount of strokes on each side.

Re: whats a good bow between $300-$500 i would check out any bow by fred bear, the diamond liberty, or a pearson bow. but those are my top choices, yours might be different. you can also look at getting a used bow for that price possibly. just don't buy a bow cuz it is cheap buy one that has a good reputation.

Re: Good Release??? i took a truball stinger and took the screw out that held the head to the strap and replaced it with a nylon loopwith a collar on it so it can be adjusted as close or as far away from your finger as possible

Re: bow sight i'm talking about the fiber optic rap that is on top of the sight. that is the extra fiber optic for the pins. instead of on the side of the sight it is on top in a clear cover.

Re: What\'s your turkey hunting method? well this is only my second year hunting turkeys, so not sure if what i do is the right thing, but i got a turkey last year. i slowly walk through the hunting ground i am on and every so often make some clucks. when i hear a gobble i try to get uphill for my set up and then i start calling to the tom. i set out decoys about 20 yards from me sometimes,sometimes i make the tom look for the hen (me)

i am thinking about getting the montana gold skylight sight. the question i have is does the glow in the dark fiber give you away to game or is there a cover so that the fiber optics don't glow in the dark on top of your bow?

Re: Looking for a new sight for my bow. i am thinking about getting a montana gold sight. or a toxonics k-9 sight. both are very very bright pins. i had a copper john sight on my old bow, and liked it very much. but the two sights i just mentioned are brighter than the copper john sight, for about the same price. (montana gold is more expensive)

should i set up on a picked cornfield or an alalfa field that is still green? haven't seen much in the alfalfa so was thinking about giving up on it.

Re: Minimum Caliber For Deer first the state you are in probably has a minimum requirement on what can be used to take a deer. now a 22 mag will kill a deer if hit in the right spot, but i would say minimum caliber would be .243 (and most states agree with this minimum caliber) so i would check with your state before you buy anything smaller than .243 for deer. jmo

Re: 25-06 finally sighted in great group!! i found that my 25-06 groups a little better with bullets 115 grains up to 120. but nice group!!

broad heads are easy to pul out target points suck to get out! i don't really like my yellowjacket cuz the sections have pulled apart and i have had to tape it together to use.

o.k. got my first turkey a couple weeks ago. plan on trying to get #2 next weekend and the weekend after. do any of you guys have any advice on hunting late spring gobblers? i am the only one hunting turkeys for about 2 miles so i do not believe that i am educationg the birds any.

Re: What does deer hunting mean to you? to me it keeps a tradition going in my family that has been going on for a very long time, gives me a chance to see some neat things other people who sit at home might not get to see, and best of all i get some meat out of the deal.

Re: new handgun i'm hitting about 3-4 inches low and sometimes to the low and right of the bull. (i think i do tighten my grip a little more at 25 yards (don't know why)

just bought a taurus p945. shoots fine out to 10 yards, but when i go to 25 yards i don't have the same impact site as i do at 10 yards. is this normal?

benelli has a new autoloader called the cordoba. looks like a nice scattergun. does anyone have one or have any info on it?

Re: Distance I can ethically shoot in nebraska we cannot use scopes with any magnification so we have to use open sights 1 power scopes or red dots. 100 yards can be a long way with no magnification. that is about the limit of what i would shoot at. i also use 2 pellets of 777 and 295 grain power belts

Re: Why do you hunt? i like the thrill the disappointment the no other high in the world that you get from shooting a nice buck the meat the friends and most of the people i have hunted with or know who hunt. i don't think there are many things in the world that can make you feel like a million bucks one second and half a second later you are flat on your butt. gotta love the ego shattering effect it has. plus for now anyhow anyone who is legal and has a bow or gun can hunt.
