  1. Re: My Treeing Walker Coonhound puppy Oh they are some work, especially 3. Hopefully they will all make coonhounds. I'm teaching them to come right now. Some tricks, but they're still young. I would really like to Bench Show Quest. But we'll see how that goes.
  2. Re: My Treeing Walker Coonhound puppy All puppies are cute. Believe me coonhunting is a heck of a good time. Try it sometime.
  3. Re: My Treeing Walker Coonhound puppy We sold a couple pups to someone that wanted to bear hunt. Don't know how they turned out though. My Dad used to have Plotts, but then he switched to Walkers. My second choice would be Blues.

  7. Re: I Got A Good One Down! Thanks, but we were unable to find him. I think if the wasn't around he would have bedded in a swamp near by, but the doe will keep him up.
  8. Re: 2004 Ohio buck Nice Buck! Congrats! You live in kent Ohio? Your not far at all. Youth season was going my way but he got away.
  9. I started the Youth Gun Season with a Bang, 3 actually. I'll go into detail. Arrived to my Dad and I's Hot Spot at 7:15am Saturday Morning for the Youth Gun Season. Nearly 8:00am my Dad decides he'll try and drive me some. 5 Minutes after my Dad leaves I seen a Doe headed the way my Dad left, I want a Buck not a Doe. After a half hour 2 does sneak around on my left, and then a Buck right after them, they were just over a hill so I moved more that way. 5 minutes later I here a Grunt and then Brush cracking, And more and More of grunts and brush! Then through the brush I see the head of a doe coming my way, Better yet a REAL NICE BUCK on her heels, and a smaller one behind them. They run out of the brush and I get off a shot, miss, Tried again but a miss. I thought they were going to duck down the hill when the doe turns and crosses a strip of open grass. Too Perfect! The buck follows and there goes my last shot. Down He GO'S! He rolls and then still as can be. I grab the 2 way radio from my pocket and tell my Dad I had one down. I then reach into my pocket and grab some more slugs. The little Buck that was 20 yards from me takes off looking for the doe, and Then My Buck takes off! I'm hurrying trying to load my gun when I lose sight of him. We found blood where I dropped him and we tracked him down to a creek and that's where we lost the Blood Trail. I couldn't believe it! My Dad thinks I might have taken out a leg, hopefully I'll be able to finish the deal tomorrow. And if not Gun season starts the 29th and someone should get him. Told you I dropped one, I just couldn't keep him there. Laura

  21. Re: POISON IVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That stuff is nasty, my face swelled up with it 2 years ago, I found a product that really works though. It's called IvyBlock, you can get it at CVS and just put it on before you go into the woods and it should take care of it.
  22. Re: Bio Updates! I'm Laura, 15 years old and HomeSchooled. I'm up in NorthEast Ohio. I've CoonHunted all my life, I started going Deer Hunting and Turkey Hunting with my Dad at 8. And Started carrying a gun at 10. Being home schooled I have no idea what my GPA is. But I think I know quite I bit. I'm not sure if I want to go to Collage yet. An advantage of being HomeSchooled is that I can go to collage, while I"m still in School, for free. I would like to be a Outdoors Writer/Photographer. The main reason is because I can involve Hunting in it, and I've already writen and photographed somethings. I hunt with a Gun mostly, a little with MuzzleLoader, and I"m getting my first bow this week-end hopefully. I've taken 2 Bucks while deer hunting, a Ten-Pointer grossing around 140"-150". My biggest Turkey is a 17Pound, 11" 1/2" Beard, 1" 1/4" Spurs. Coonhunting I've done the most. I'm well known around the Clubs and Me and My dog Teddy, have Trophies and plaques to show for it. I have no BoyFriend. I'm not even old enough to drive, I have my Temp, but no truck. My Dream Truck is the F-150 Explorer. This is some of me any how!
