  1. That sounds like a fun trip! I would think some advanced notice might have been nice though. Hope you have a great time.
  2. I can't seem to get the hang of a mouth call, it tickles too much ....but my bf and youngest son have had great success with the HS Strut raspy old hen call. Its a good idea to be able to use several different types of calls if you are hunting public land. They seem to get used to one type of call and won't come into it so you have to try something they haven't been hearing.
  3. Very nicely done! What kind of editing software are you using?
  4. I finally had the time to use my new skis last sunday!! Here's some pics from our trip to our local slopes. Here's a picture I took going up the lift. The trails were almost empty for most of the morning so I didn't have to worry about taking anyone out if I wrecked. This is my youngest son Nick, and me. See how excited he is to have to stop skiing and take a picture with mom! LOL And just to embarrass him a little, here's Nick after a run that was a little too fast. Thank God I had the camera when I did that!
  5. LOL Not really! You just end up soggy for the rest of the day. And it's a lot harder to get that stuff out of the back of your snow pants before it melts. Hope you have a great time....I finally got to try out my new skis last Sunday and we had a blast but also had to deal with melting snow that later turned icy as the sun started to set. It's going to be an awsome year for skiing if this snow fall keeps up like it has.
  6. Thanks for the review....we have been talking about going to see it this weekend and now it's official. There aren't many movies my other half and I both like but the first NT was one we could agree on.
  7. That's why I'm afraid to get one of the nice trail cams. We are lucky that with all the stands and cameras we have out, nothing has been stolen, but I think I would cry if I lost a nice Cuddeback!
  8. Congrats on an awsome season!! I think I need to move to a state that allows me more than one deer a year, the season ends way too quickly here.
  9. It does depend on your employer, what kind of job you have, experience, education, ect. You also have to look at what it costs to live in each state. You might make more in Colorado, but the cost of living could be more than it is in Mississippi so in the end it evens out.
  10. I supposedly have an hours break for lunch, but the one job I was hired to do has turned into three jobs so I don't have the time to take a break and still get everything done and back home at a decent hour. Plus I have to cover the phones when the secretaries take their lunch so it would be the end of the day before I could leave anyway. I guess that's like 3 1/2 jobs....I should ask for a raise!
  11. That sounds like my oldest son! He was wiggling teeth that weren't suppose to come out in hopes of another visit from the tooth fairy. My youngest son won't touch them though and it always ends up with an expensive trip to the dentist to have them pulled.
  12. The last time we spent the night in a hotel was just before Christmas for my company's party. We usually do it a few times a year. It's nice to get away from the kids and home and have some time alone.
  13. We have four cameras and one of them is IR. We get just as many pics on the three flash ones as we do on the IR one. I think the flash pics turn out better and we wouldn't waste the extra money on another IR.
  14. I was hoping to find some moose sheds from the big guy I posted pics of in the photography section. It might have to wait until spring though....we have over two feet of snow on the ground and they might be well hidden now. It has turned out to be a great excuse to buy the family snow shoes and head out anyway.
  15. Congratulations to your daughter! I'm loving that coat she's wearing too!
  16. I won't take ours down until after New Years. I put up a LOT of decorations so I'm in no hurry to take it all down, pack it away and put back up the regular stuff.
  17. That's a pretty cool idea, but it looked very wobbly when he was climbing the ladder part! I would have a hard time climbing back down. LOL
  18. I don't like hunting from a stand so I usually sit under a well concealed tree from about an hour before sunrise until 9am. Then I hunt around until 3pm and sit until about a half hour after dark. I can't believe how many of you go home during the day, you never know what is out and about!
  19. My boys were both in bed by 8pm christmas eve and up at 1am. Santa drops off their stockings in their bedrooms so they have something to do until I got up at 6 am. It's a tradition Santa started long ago when my sister, brother and I would wake up around the same time....
  20. Congratulations!! Don't worry about the hair, big bodied hair is in again! And of course it was a perfect shot, was your hubby expecting anything less?
  21. Happy Birthday! Hope it's all you've wished for.
  22. Congrats to your hubby! Now let's see the pics of yours!!!
  23. I guess I'd want a varmit gun....maybe a .17 with a scope. I don't wear jewelry (and you don't get much when you pawn it... ) and he's not getting off that easy with just some flowers! LOL My dream present would be a fishing trip to Alaska though....I saw a show on a camp up there that also had a spa. I could fish and take pictures all day long and then come back for a facial and a massage! I don't know if they would ever get me to come back home...
  24. Congratulations on making Dean's List!! Soon you'll be able to get a great paying job and start repaying student loans! LOL
  25. My other half is a contractor and also absolutely hates pre-constructed homes of any type. You might want to look into a few quotes for a single level ranch (almost any contractor will do that for free and you don't want to deal with one that won't). They go up quickly and are relatively inexpensive to build. You get what you pay for and this isn't the type of investment you want to cut corners on!
