  5. Re: Help needed well i meant a response on that topic.
  6. Re: Cell phone in the woods? I always bring mine in the woods w/ me. Keep it on silent. I shot a 7 pt two yrs ago hunting out of a box blind while talking on my cell phone..i just calmly told her to hold on. It was pretty cool. I wouldn't go in the woods w/o it.
  7. I strongly recommend shooting power belts. They by far shoot the best out of anything we ever shot in our muzzle loaders and everyone else we know says the same. If i were u i would probably sight it about 1" or 2" high at 50 yds since ur shooting just open sights. That should put you right on at around 100yds. Thats how we have ours sighted in and it works well. Good luck
  8. Re: Help needed Thanks a lot guys/girls. This is really helping out a lot. I didn't expect to get this kind of response. Thanks again..Big help

  10. Re: POISON IVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poison Ivy is a terrible thing. Fortunately i can pretty much role around in it and for some reason i will not catch it. However one of my friends must have got it on his hands w/o knowing he then proceeded to use the bathroom and lets just say when he woke up the next morning he was itching and swollen in a place no guy would ever want to catch it LOL!! Somehow we always get a good laugh out of this around the campfire
  11. Re: Thanks everybody.....we lost him My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Now everytime you are out hunting or doing anything else u will know that he will be right beside you keeping you safe and helping guide you through life.
  12. I have to give an informative speech in my communication class. I was planning on doing it on deer hunting. I was wondering if any of you had any helpfull ideas on how i could go about doin this. I'm open for any suggestions. I dont have to follow any guidelines. Just lemme hear it..thanks a lot.
  13. Re: Deer Activity? Yeah well i'm sure yall are all experiencing descent temperatures. Its still 90 degrees here in louisiana and we have mosquito's like i'm sure most of u notherners havent even dreamed of. Its miserable. I gave it up until we get some cooler temps. Even the 60's would be nice. How many of you are getting up in the mornings to go hunting and its already 70 degrees outside???? It's not fun
  14. Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble seeing deer bc they are moving just at night. Deer signs everyone but hadn't seen a deer since the season opened. On the other hand my friend has a stand set up about 300 yds from me and has been seeing 5-7 deer every outing. Starting to get very frustrated.
  15. Re: Tips on using trail cams? DO NOT USE FUJI FILM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I set mine up about 4 ft off the ground and put a wedge a lil stick in the back to give it a lil downward angle. Been working great. I also suggest using 400 film. good luck
  16. Re: How many times can your climber use the same t We had a gum tree by our camp and one on our lease that we climbed pretty regular w/ API grand slams and it did kill the trees. I didn't think it would. We had to cut the one down in our camp yard so it wouldn't fall on our camp.
  17. Re: How far will bucks travel at night? Its coincidence u ask this question. I have been gettin pictures of a 9 pt regularly on my camera where i have been feeding. Well i found some really good buck signs and other deer signs at the least a mile and half from my originaly spot. I put some feed out and set up my cam. Went back a few days later checked out my pics and wouldn't u know i had numerous pics of the same deer i had been getting pics of at my original spot. I never thought they would wonder that far. I also got pics of him in another spot in b/w the two. Now i dont know where to hunt lol...he's EVERYWHERE.
  18. Re: sheds found while deer hunting!! I have been hunting for 7 yrs now (own my own) and i have never found a shed. I think the rats and squirrels chew them up quickly where i hunt.
