  11. Agreed. Once you have your first bird gobble 20 feet from you, you will be hooked. Me, my hands start to shake like there is a 12 point buck in front of me. I like to hunt everything. Anytime I am in the outdoors, it's quality time. However there was a hunt I will NOT do over again. A friend of mine called me up one day and asked if I wanted to go on a pheasant and quail hunt. I said yes without hestitation since we don't have quail here in New York. We arrived at this place near Cooperstown and got suited up. We then gathered together (about 10 of us) for a briefing and designate where each group would hunt. It was then that I watched a 4 wheeler drive up the hill and toss the birds out of a box. Yep, a box no wild birds or recently released birds on this hunt. And the kicker, the so-called group leader instructed us to shoot any hawks (VERY illegal) that we saw because they would eat THEIR precious birds. I had not even started hunting yet and I was not having fun. So after the briefing we went hunting. These sort-of tame pheasants and quail would not fly or flush so we had to shoot them off the ground or off tree branches....Borrrrrring! I shot one quail and a pheasant early then just enjoyed a nice walk. I could not wait to get home. I told Jim never to invite me again.

  15. Note to self. Never mess with anyone from Texas! :chair:
  16. I almost bought the Black Ice FLX, its a great bow. I wound up buying a Hoyt Turbohawk instead.
  17. Sorry but I blame Rage. Go to the Rage web page take a gander at how many outdoor celebs are on the payroll. Us hunters are flipping the bill to keep them around. A great broadhead will sell itself without tons of tv ads with 20 different pro-staffers. Just look at Slick Tricks. 10 years ago Slick Trick revolutionized the broadhead industry with the new short broadhead design that many have copied since then. No fancy commercials with a ton of celebs, just a great product that is better than a rage anyday.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if the smell of blood in the air had put them in a frenzy. That is a great story! You should write it up for a magazine.
  19. Because at election time, everyone wants to know what the polls have to say!

  21. Stop complaining and start making a change! Go vote!
  22. From what I am told, human hair clipping only hold human odor for 3 days. If you deter the deer without the perp knowing, does he learn his lesson?
  23. Yes yes! They have recently approved ethanol 15 so make sure you add plenty of additive.
