Re: food plot questions
I agree if you are surrounded by corn and soybeans those turnips and brassicas don't work very well.We planted corn and soybeans in our small food plots this year and the deer absolutely loved them, also I would try the Buck Forage Oats.
I was talking to a buddy today and he was telling me of a deer that was killed in Springboro that has been green scored at 202 typical.Anyone else out there heard about this.My buddy said a picture of the deer was in the newspaper, but I don't know the name of the paper.Next time I talk to him I will try to get more info.Maybe some of you guys here in Ohio might know more about this.
Re: opinions on expandables
I shoot the Rocket Steelhead and like it very much.I killed a doe earlier and got a complete pass through on a quartering away shot .They shoot just like a field point so you don't have to adjust your sights any.Give them a try I think you will like them.
Re: Ohio hunters when you figure full blown rut?
Same thing happening around here in Highland county. All the rain we have been getting is keeping the farmers out of the fields around here though.
Re: Which Expandable
I use the Rocket Steelheads and really like them.I just killed a doe with one and got a complete pass thru.Plus they fly just like a field tip so you won't have to move your sights any.I think you will like them if you get them.
Re: Ohio Bowhunters check in here
Shot a doe last week.Yesterday I seen a decent 8 pointer, tickled the rattling horns and he came to within 40 yards and rubbed on a sapling and pawed the ground, but I couldn't get a shot. This is in Highland county.
