  1. Re: Where did you meet your better half? Well, like a lot of you,I met my wife at work. When I started working here in 98 she was the receptionist.About two weeks into the job a bunch of us from work went out for some brewskies and she was there. After some flirting around she said yes to a date that weekend.I brought her to a hockey game. Been together ever since, and married on September 30 of 2000.The weekend before bow season starts and the weekend after racing season was over. We now have a little girl that's 2 1/2 and a boy on the way.
  2. Re: Deer and Deer-hunting Article I agree that some of the t.v. shows blow the celebration up and they look faked for the most part. I see no problem with celebration or true emotion from bagging an animal. When someone from deer camp tags an animal it's handshakes, hugs and high fives for our group. When you put forth so much effort scouting or putting in food plots and hanging stands,it's satisfying to get what we are all ultimately after....a filled tag. I do thank the Lord and respect the animal very much, but when the time comes I don't feel the buck fever, or the excitemant of the hunt, it's time to try something else.I don't think that will ever happen though since it's been the exact same for the last 15 years.
  3. Re: DANNICA PATRICK MOVING TO NASCAR???? [ QUOTE ] unless she's in my kitchen making me a sandwich and pouring me a cold beer...I could care less what she's doing. [/ QUOTE ] LOL I agree,I think she is way better than most other female drivers that have tried NASCAR.She would have no problem getting sponsors either, since she has made a name for herself in auto racing and has proved she can be competative.I would like to see her in a truck.
  4. Re: What yall eatin in the stand.... I don't bring any food to the stand with me,but I do bring a lunchbox to keep in the truck for after the hunt.Usually it will have a protein bar, some deer sausage,a bottle of water, and an apple or banana.I also will keep a thermos of hot coffee in the truck.
  5. Re: Check your arrows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My cousin has had two explode, but luckily he didn't get hurt either time.I'll bet that hurts like a bugger. I'll stick with aluminums for now.
  6. Re: Tito vs Shamrock? Yea,me and a few buddies take turns buying them.I wish they were cheaper.I'm not sure that last nights fights were worth $40.
  7. Re: Tito vs Shamrock? Unfortunately since it was stopped so soon I bet we see another rematch between them two. The Sylvia/Arlovski fight wasn't as great as I thought it would be.It looked like they were both real cautious. Lidell vs. Bobaloo sounds like a dandy fight in August.
  8. Re: Sleeper to win World Series?? Yea,the Redbirds have been stinckin up the field the past few weeks. It's amazing that they are still in first place.I think it would be a miracle to see the Cards win the World Series with the way they've been playing.
  9. Re: Sleeper to win World Series?? I'm gonna say Houston.
  10. Re: 6 Months Has Elapsed Good luck Chris!Hope all goes well.
  11. Re: Update on Beagle puppys!! Cute pups!We were looking at pics of our beagle when he was a pup last night. There's nothing more adorable than a beagle pup.
  12. Re: Chase Changes Yea,I say dump the chase.Since they won't do that I say move the Bristol night race to be a chase race.
  13. Re: New Drury Videos [ QUOTE ] After doing some back tracking I came across the phone number of a Pike County Illinois landowner with whom I talked with about leasing his 180 acre property for this season. He was the one who told me of the Drury's coming in and leasing up a large piece of property close to his and shooting out the big bucks and moving on. [/ QUOTE ] With every county in Illinois having what it takes to produce trophy bucks I highly doubt that they can lease a property and kill evrey big buck that crosses the property line, especially with Illinois having a two buck limit. If they are killing the big bucks, the smaller ones got to get bigger sometime in the next two years anyways, especially with good genetics running around.I would rather see them lease a property and scout it and hang their own stands and put in the food plots than going to high dollar outfitters that I could care less about.JMO
  14. Re: Stevey Y Hangs Them Up Sad to see him go.He's hall of fame material in my book.
  15. Re: CONGRATS to Boris Said Kudos to Boris and his crew chief-Frankie Stoddard(sp?)He raced good and kept his nose clean all night.
  16. Re: Happy B-day Racksie Happy birthday Racksie!
  17. Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY too_pointer Happy birthday Too_!Hope it's a good one.
  18. Re: CONGRATS to Boris Said I doubt that he has enough plate expeirience to contend for the race, but that is quite an accomplishment for a road course guy. We'll see how he does in the draft.
  19. Re: How many of you have to work Monday? [ QUOTE ] I have one ECN (Engineer Change Notice) to get done. [/ QUOTE ] Sheesh!I have about a dozen sitting on my desk. Our whole shop will be here on Monday. It's the first time since I've worked here that we had to work on a Monday when the holiday was on a Tuesday. I sure could have used a nice 4 day weekend.I have to save my Vacation for when my next kid will be born in October and hunting in November and December.
  20. Re: Bowhunting Rituals? Well,I kinda have a weird thing I do with my quiver when I get to my stand.I use a Bohning quiver that has a little orange lever to lock the quiver in place. When I get to my stand I take off my quiver and hang it on a hook, and I ALWAYS flip that little lever back to the lock position even though it's not holding anything.I tried to let it alone one morning last year and it drove me nuts!
  21. Re: Did any watch NAWTV? Yep,it is still a good show.I enjoy watching Stan and Greg, but it does seem like something is missing with Pat being gone, and I don't care for Dr. Kroll too much.I really like the shows that feature mainly bowhunting.
  22. Re: Gas creeping up again! It's around $3 a gallon here. We've cancelled our South Dakota pheasant trip this year for the first time in 10 years, not just because of gas, everything seems to have gone up over the past 3 or 4 years.
  23. Re: Anybody catch Dream Season last night? Yep,I saw it.I really enjoy Dream Season. The Illinois boys are from Staunton, which is only about 15 miles from where I live.I'm glad we finally got some new stuff to watch! A buddy from work has been working on a DVD and sent it in for next season. It looked pretty good so hopefully they make it on.
  24. Re: Happy Birthday F250_4X4 Happy birthday 250!
  25. Re: Housing cost.... A nice 1800 sq.ft. house with a basement and an acre of ground around here would be at least $180,000.We bought our house about 7 years ago for $82,000,but it is only 1300 sq. ft. 3 bed,2 bath with a small yard and on a crawl space. Now it would go for about $120,000.
