well, i thought i was gonna be off from the machine shop on friday, but my mom in law told my wife tonight that we are gonna work a little while that morning, then grill steaks and get our christmas bonus. man, i must have it bad, i still wanna go duck hunting. prolly wouldnt kill anything but a couple of woodies, but i prolly wouldnt get a bonus either!!! maybe i will try a midday hunt instead. Re: NEED ADVICE! well, wen went right where the first arrow is, the one pointing southeast. we killed 3 woodies. most of the ducks were around the bend from us. we wnt back into the cypress trees where it is closest to the river, and it was LOADED!!! i will be there tuesday morning!!

Re: good texas hunt here the skinny. brads deer on the end was a management deer. said they had been trying to kill him for two seasons. it was whipping everything around there. it was a 13 point, but a basic 6. brads second deer was called a bronze buck, meaning, under 140. shane, the second guy from the left, his was on the border of bronze/silver. right at 140. the third guy is their father in law. his was a gold buck, 158. the guy on the end his was gold plus some major cash, 181". they were taken at the La Banderas ranch. Re: KANSAS BRUTE lol, saskman, i said it was a guess. i know how big my biggest is, and this one looks twice as heavy, lol. what do you think it scores? you guys are used to this caliber deer. like i said, they told me they taped it at 198 3/8, thats all i got to go on. BG12

this is my wifes cousin on the end, his bro-in-law, some other guy, and the two boys father in law. not sure of the details, wife just sent the pics to me. some real good deer though. i will get ahold of brad and get some details.

Re: Deer hunters save rare bird!!! exactly whttlbucksteve, this supposed find has ruined alot of hunters seasons. this is the exact statement i made to one of our commisioners. "you have made these guys jump thru hoops to get into their duck holes, (a limited permit system is now in place), and here comes the IBW flying over. one good 'ol boy says to the other, theres that SOB thats messing up our hunting, BOOM BOOM, down he goes. BUT, on the other hand, if you leave it alone like it always has been, if old IBW flies over they might just say, there he goes boys, aint life grand!" IF it really exists, it has existed with hunters in the area, why screw it up now?? BG12

hey guys. i am gonna try a new place saturday i have never hunted before. it is an oxbow lake off the river. i drove down there last sat morning, and saw a good many ducks, where the arrows are. i was thinking of getting on the end of the peninsula so i could see them coming from both ways. do ya'll think they would fly closer to the inside or outside of the bend? my buddy said he would get closer to the river. what do ya'll think? here is a pic and a link if ya wanna zoom in. my buddys mom got this bruiser in KS. a jaw dropper for sure !! 198 3/8 gross, 26 3/4 inside spread, 28 something beams, 16 point. BG12

Re: Football Controversy we had thet happen when i was in high school. isaac davis, who went on to the nfl with the chargers, hit a buddy of mine in the side of the head, open handed, after a play. it completely upended JB. the refs threw flags, and people started trying tp climb out of the stands and go after him. they threw him out of the game, but i am not sure about the next week. it almost got real ugly. the coaches were at the edge of the stands telling the daddies and students not to come on the field or they would be arrested.

Re: Hunting on Beaver Ponds we take alot of woodies on beaver ponds. they will be nearest the acorn trees around the pond. if there is current thru the pond such as a creek, look around the banks/dams, and see if the acorns are pooling up some where. also, they will come in on the pond and then swim upsteam into the timber up the creek. good luck, and be prepared for some IN YO FACE shots!!
