  1. Re: FS: Brand New \"Modified\" Sims X-press Stabili $45 TYD!
  2. Brand new, hasn't left my closet since I bought it. I was going to do all black accessories but decided to do all camo again so this stabilizer would look out of place. I have modified the X-press and instead of having a mini S-Coil on it it is now equipped with a full size S-Coil. $50 TYD / OBO. I prefer paypal, but again, checks and money orders will work as well.
  3. Thing is practically brand new. I bought it last March and used it from the end of April till the end of May and that was it. It is in great shape still, I just decided I want to get one that matches my camo. Size XL/XXL........... finished in Mossy Oak Shadow Leaf. Retail is $79.99, I will let it go for $50 shipped/ OBO. I would prefer paypal if at all possible, but MO's and Personal Checks will be fine as well.......
  4. Re: Mathews question 2004: Outback 2005: Switchback 2006: Switchback XT & LD 2007: Drenalin Now, this is just the hunting bows, this doesn't include the competition bows like the Conquest 4 or Apex 7's, nor does it include the children's bows such as the Mustang and the Ignition.
  5. Re: what kind of bow? Just sold my Switchback......... a new Drenalin is in transit
  6. Re: Bill Jordan (Mathews Switchback Challenge Bow) I "heard" from a friend that apparently Bill's bow had been lost in transit on his way to that hunt, which I saw as well, and he basically walked in to the nearest Mathews dealer in town and used his celebrity status to borrow the bow lol. Now, as I said, this is what a buddy "heard" and I am just passing on what I was told.
  7. Re: pa gun opener Just wanted to wish everyone good luck as well!!! I chose not to go away to camp this year because I have seen a TON of dead deer in the area and a TON of bucks chasing does in the past week. So as I said, I opted to stick it out around home and see if I an't make some magic happen. I'll be on some private land in Allegheny County with my Switchback
  8. Re: super bowl? [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] My vote is Dallas vs. San Diego, even though I am obviously pulling for the Steelers to pull off an amazing feat like last year. Quit dreaming!!!! Baltimore smoked them...again Indy is a great regular season team and Peyton is a GREAT regular season QB, however, he's been a choker ever since he was at Tennessee and he'll just wind up being another Marino. He'll break all sorts of records, but he'll never get a ring [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I'm not even sure if SMOKED accurately describes what too place today

  10. Re: anyone watching?? [ QUOTE ] I thought ND had a good shot at this game to coming into it. Guess i was wrong. USC just got a field goal. [/ QUOTE ] Notre Dame only does good against teams that AREN'T good. They've played 2 good teams this year, and they officially have 2 losses now. Coincidence???? Hmmmmmmm
  11. Re: A little hockey talk If you're talking who HAS produced the greatest of all time, you'd have to go with Canada, I mean, come on..... Lemieux, Gretzky, Roy, that's enough right there However, if you are asking who IS producing the most talented players right now, it has ot be Russia.... Malkin, Olvechkin, Afinaginov. Again, enough said
  12. Re: My Date With The Drenaline... By: PABowhunter4 [ QUOTE ] I shot the XT a few months ago, it WAS nice! But to fork out another $150 for only 2 FPS.! [/ QUOTE ] Trust me bud, the Drenalin is more than 2 fps faster than the my Switchback, which means it is definitely faster than the XT
  13. Re: My Date With The Drenaline... By: PABowhunter4 [ QUOTE ] I'll wait for the Hoyt Vectrix! [/ QUOTE ] Different strokes for different folks
  14. Re: My Date With The Drenaline... By: PABowhunter4 [ QUOTE ] Great review. Let us know how it did paper tuning if you do that type of tuning. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I paper tune every bow I buy. As soon as I get mine in and all set up I'll definitely do a follow up with how it tuned, speed, etc.
  15. Well, after much anticipation I finally got a chance to shoot the brand new Drenaline side by side with my Switchback. I shot theDrenaline set up with only an NAP drop away rest on it, no limb savers, no silencers, stabilizer or any accessory of that nature. Without further delay, here are my opinions APPEARANCE: All in all it is just another beautiful bow by Mathews. Beautiful edges and curves, detailed camo, just everything you have come to expect from a Mathews bow. Thew new riser has to be seen in person, there is no other way around it. As for the limbs, I was a little skeptical at first, but after seeing how they actually look on the bow and really looking and studying the engineering and design that went in to them I must say that Mathews has definitely revolutionized the industry once again. The idler wheel has been redesigned a little bit and it has a more sophisticated look if you will. The cam is very similar to the XT, but it too has been refined a tad and it also looks a little more "sophisticated". The grip has the same general shape as the grips on the Switchback, XT and Outback, but it is A LOT thinner and even though I don't mind the fat grip because I have big hands, I must admit the new grip feels much more comfortable in my hand. As for the camo, to me it looks nothing like the light camo pattern someone posted on here. You can tell it is the same pattern because it has the pine branches and what not, but in all honesty I think the new camo looks like Mossy Oak Break Up. DRAW CYCLE: The draw cycle on the new bow is absolutely unreal. I had it set to 70# on the nose and I must admit you feel every bit of it for the first 2" or so, after that the weight just gradually disappears as you get closer to anchor point. There wasn't a noticable dump or roll over by any means. You feel it and then it just gradually disappears until you hit full draw at which point to me it literally felt like holding air, but at the same time it had a very solid back wall. Once at full draw the bow was rock steady. THE SHOT: WOW!!!!!!! That is really all that needs to be said, but I'll go further lol. As I said in the above paragraph, the thing is just unbelievably smooth and and easy to hold on target. Upon release the bow is very quiet even without any silencing accessories. All that I heard upon release was the string hitting the supressors and the arrow hitting the target, not to mention my drool hitting the floor. There was a TINY bit of hand shock, and I do mean TINY, but for such a light bow with no silencing accessories on it, the Drenaline was still quieter than a lot of bows on the market fully decked out IMO. With a good stabilizer added on, this bow will keep up the long standing tradition of Mathews quietness. As for the speed of the bow, we didn't actually chrony it, but the baby has some serious zing to it and while the web site only says it should be 2 fps faster than my Switchback, I must beg to differ as it appeared my arrows with the Switchback were traveling slower than those from the Drenaline, even with the Drenaline set on 29" and my Switchie on 30". CONCLUSION: I will be 100% honest with you. When they released the bow last Friday I looked at the specs and said "Ehh, same as my Switchback and I wasn't really interested. However, that is where the similarities begin and end. In my opinion, the Drenaline is smoother, much lighter and faster than my Switchback, and every bit as quiet. Deciding to knock 1/2 pound off of it was a great idea as well. Even though I prefer a heavier bow, the Drenaline was still heavy enough to hold steady, yet light enough that you don't notice any of the bow in your shoulders like is common when holding for long periods of time. The bow is so light that you feel like you are playing with a child's bow when holding it, but believe me, this is no child's bow. On top of that, my Switchback has always felt a little top heavy to me, that has been my only complaint with it, however, there is no "top heaviness" with the Drenaline, the bow balanced perfectly in my hand and felt like it was meant to be there. I went in to my local shop telling myself that it was going to take one **** of a bow to make me sell my Switchback and I truly had no intention of ordering the Drenaline, I was basically going out to see what all the hype was about. That being said, Mathews has made that one **** of a bow and my Switchback has been placed on ebay and my order will be placed in the next couple of days for a 30", 60-70# Drenaline. P.S.- After talking to my dealer for a while I tried pumping him for some info lol. Whether or not he is yanking my chain I don't know, but from what he said, Mathews will be releasing 2 more bows this year in January and if what he says is true, you guys, and you know who you are, might finally get that bow you've been looking for.
  16. Re: 2007 Mathews Drenalin [ QUOTE ] I have not shot one yet but why does mathews refuse to make a longer a to a bow for hunters? The MQ1 is still my all time favorite bow at 37" and I have not owned a Mathews for 3 years. [/ QUOTE ] The LX was and is a great bow and measures in at 35.5".
  17. Re: Shot the new Mathews Drenalin [ QUOTE ] i hear dit was good but the new hoyt lineup will blow everything else away this year that is just what i heard [/ QUOTE ] I also heard that Bowtech is the bestest in the whole wide world. And that people who shoot Hoyts can beat up everyone else no matter what brand they shoot. I also heard that Martin bows are so good that every other bow company will go out of business. That is just what I heard
  18. Re: Shot the new Mathews Drenalin $905 with tax.... MY GOD!!! My dealer is selling them here for $750 plus tax, comes to like $800 on the button with tax. At any rate, I am on my way there tomorrow to shoot one. The owner is a diehard Switchback fan, which I am also, he didn't even bat an eye at the XT. However, I talked to him yesterday and he told me after shooting the Switchie and Drenaline side by side he ordered a new Drenaline because the Switchback isn't even in the same league as the new bow. Sooo, that being said, daddy might be ordering a new Drenaline tomorrow and picking her up in 2 weeks
  19. Re: 2007 Mathews Drenalin [ QUOTE ] I'll probably shoot one, but won't buy. The specs are pretty much the same as my Switchback. I do like the new limb design. Looks like another great bow from Mathews. [/ QUOTE ] You took the words right out of my mouth. New bow has my Switchie by 2 fps, so that's not enough to warrant me spending $800 on the new bow. Like you said though, the limb design itself, the limb pockets and the new limb swivel locks definitely seem to be rather inventive. Regardless, this bow is going to fly off the shelves in no time.
  20. Re: The Lucky #13 On my way to my morning spot yesterday I had a MAMMOTH of a buck, 170" or better easy, dog a doe acrosss the dirt road in front of me. Things were looking promising to say the least. Well, set up by 5:40 a.m., sat till 11 in the pouring rain and saw nothing but squirrels. Went home, dried out a little bit and grabbed some grub, back in the woods by 2 p.m. and sat till dark . At 3:45 p.m. in the midst of another quagmire I happen to look up and out of nowhere a nice 8 point appears at 22 yards. Not one of the beasts I wanted, but no dink either, a well deserved trophy on a day like yesterday if you ask me. He steps behind 2 trees, I draw and anchor focusing to the right of the tree where I will get my shot.......2 more steps......... 2 more steps that he never takes. Instead of heading straight, he veers up the hill in to some thick crap and out of my life lol. On my way back to my car I kicked up 2 doe bedded about 50 yards from where I parked. On another note, the season ended exactly how it began, me sitting in a down pour looking forward to things to come. I'm not done with the bow yet this year, I'm a get us some points

  23. Re: 07 BowTech... Accidental Release!!! [ QUOTE ] Ok, saw the recent post saying 330fps for the guardian... Thanks for the info PAbowhunter! I read that you can work on the bow without a press, by loosening the limb bolts from the riser, they pivot inward, relaxing the string... [/ QUOTE ] No problem bud. I read the same thing . Seems like a lot of bow companies are offering that option these days.
  24. Re: 07 BowTech... Accidental Release!!! [ QUOTE ] I just saw on archerytalk that BowTech's other new bow is the "Commander". And that either the guardian or the commander will be able to hit 350 fps..! Has anyone seen pics of the Commander? [/ QUOTE ] The Commander won't be anywhere near 350 fps guys, the Guardian is the speed bow for this year at 330 fps. The Commander is rated at 37.25" ATA, 7.5" BH and between 315-318 fps. A Bowtech rep himself said the 350 fps bow was just a rumor.
  25. Re: Fantasy HELP! I'd go with Maroney too. He seems to be phasing Dillon out and I wouldn't be surprised if he takes over the starting job at some point.
