  1. Re: September 9 Alberta hunt [ QUOTE ] Way ti gi guys! Hunting Alberta in the Sept is awesome! Where about were you? [/ QUOTE ] We were just south of Lloydminster, the field was actually about half a mile from the Saskatchewan border.
  2. Here are some pics from mine and a buddies goose hunt this morning. It was a good hunt, we ended up with 15 Canada's, 1 speck, 12 Snows, and 2 Mallards and 2 Pintails. My buddy missed a lot of the shooting because he was parking the truck. The birds came out very early this morning and he didn't get back to the blinds until half hour into the hunt, by then I had 8 snows, 6 Canada's and 3 ducks on the ground, I bet next time he makes me park the truck. By the way, thats my ugly mug is most, if not all of the pics. Also when we were packing up we had two little bull moose run about 200 yards away from us and stop to look at us, but by then the camera was in the bag put away.

  4. "On Saturday May 6 APOS hosted a Waterfowl Seminar in Edmonton. Representatives from SRD, AF&G Association, Bird Outfitters, Enforcement and the Public at Large were present. How to preserve and protect our Alberta Waterfowl Hunting Heritage was discussed and a five year plan was roughed out. This process is only in its beginning stages, but we hope to have a working document by the end of the Calendar year. Some interesting announcements have been made by SRD. The 2006 Waterfowl Season in most of the Peace River country will move to Sunday hunting. We are hopeful that this is part of a plan to move Sunday hunting southward in small increments over the next five years. The limit for Whitefront geese has been reduced to three per day for non-resident aliens and will remain at five for residents. This year, non-resident aliens will have the opportunity to purchase successive six day licenses throughout the season. Next year Alberta will move to one six day license only for non-resident alien bird hunters. You will need to plan ahead for next years bookings. It appears that our collective voices have been heard and as a province we are moving forward in addressing those concerns."
  5. Re: Lake of the Woods? I have always dreamt about heading to LOTW, to fish for Muskie, one day I will.
  6. While having a campfire discussion at the lake this past weekend, a lady that camps with us said she had gotten a notice to renew her posseion lisence, but she didn't realize what it was and seeing as the conservatives are gonna get rid of the gun law, she just disregarded it. Well she received a couple more notices that now say because she did not renew her lisence that she must report to the police, or a judge and turn in her 22, the only gun she has I might add. So all of us began to dig into our wallets and sure enough my dads PAL should have been renewed in January, but he didn't receive any notices that it need to be renewed, and another guy's is due in 2 weeks and he has yet to receive any info either. So now because there were no notices sent out out about renewing it my dad is in illegal posseison of guns, which isn't a big deal to us, but how many other people don't realize you need to renew your PAL's? Now my dad has to re-apply for his instead of just renewing it because he missed his renewal date. We all thought they were good for life, so all you people check out your lisence and see when you need to renew it.

  11. Well we are booking our mexican vacation for this upcoming New Years, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect for fishing. Also if anyone has a specific charter they use that info would be greatly appreciated. I should mention that we are going to the Mayan Riviera.
  12. Re: 3 Nice Sask Bucks From This Year Hey sask, beauty bucks, where about did you level them?
  13. Re: Dec.6-Meadow Lake Horn Measuring!!! Yah, I am currently in the process of learning how to bow hunt for that exact same reason. By the way superguide, how thick is the ice up there?
  14. Re: Dec.6-Meadow Lake Horn Measuring!!! Superguide, yah I feel your pain, over here where we hunt mulies we only get it every 4 years to. Those years that a guy doesn't have it is when we seem to see the biggest ones. My cousin had a mulie buck tag this year for the alberta side of lloyd, and we took him to a couple of our honey holes, well long story short he missed a big Mulie, at least 30 inches wide, I think a little buck fever hit him, lol.
  15. Re: Dec.6-Meadow Lake Horn Measuring!!! There are very few, if any draws, that you sask guys cannot put in for over here. You can not put in by yourself, you must apply with a resident, but if you get drawn you do not have to hunt with that same person, you can get anyone to buy the hunter host lisence and go with them. Yah there is nothing wrong with Sask putting in the same hunter host thing as alberta, and I do not know exact numbers, but the hunter host can only "host" a few people a year. There has also been rumours of Sask putting in a rule for Waterfowl outfitters, saying that the american hunters who come up here and hunt by themselves, without an outfitter, are not going to be allowed to anymore. Meaning that non-canadians must have a guide to even shoot geese. I don't know if it will happen or not.
