Went out to some public ground yesterday. Find some birds gobbling up on the one ridge. Ended up sitting up on them about 60yrds away. Didnt mean to get that close thought we're about 100-125yrds away until we had the blind and decoys about set and some started gobbling alot closer. Shooting time was 6:31 and by 6:45 we had 4 jakes at the decoy. A buddy decided to take one with bullhead broadhead at 9yrds. I got video from my phone. We still had some birds gobbling down from us 500-600yrds away. So we picked up everything and moved up the ridge 300yrds. They gobbled off and on but wouldnt move alittle before noon we had some hens come by. Around 12:30 heard some gobbling getting closer. So at 12:50 we had 2 toms coming at the decoys. Then I let my bullhead eat. So 6hrs later and 300yrds apart we both came out with birds.

I finally got one on Sunday. He scored a 61.25 will post it up later on the contest page.

Its been a tough season for me here on public ground. Seemed like te only thing that would come in was jakes. We finally got time with a buddy to put in my boat in the platte river and hunt a private island. We got out there out 5:30am on Sunday and got a couple to respond to the owl call. Got setup about 100-125yrds from the closest one and put out the DSD. Started yelping and he would gobble on everything. He flew down about 6:05 and by 6:15 he was taking a dirt nap. The island is in the background.

When I got to work this morning they were already in the parking lot by the first loading dock. To close to the gate to hit drove by within 5ft. So after I parked the truck about 8ft away from another truck I started calling. It didnt take long for them to start coming to me. But they had to stop for a little love making first. After he was done she came running to the truck. She stood looking at the other truck for awhile. The guy in side of it figure he better roll up the window by the way she was looking. She ended up jumping up on his roof to get a better look at me. Mean while he is struttin between the 2 trucks. after about 2minutes of her lookin at me calling to her she jumps down. And they walk off with him gobblin the whole way. I really wanted to pull out the 9 iron but more people showed up early today too see if the could see a turkey show. The pics suck this time the camera had died when I tired to take a pic. So I had to use my cell phone.
