  1. Looking for some help guys I've been trying to decide what scope to put on my M77 Mark II 300 win mag.....I think i wanna go with the burris fullfield with the ballistic plex package that comes with a Landmark Spotting Scope from cabelas for 359.99 ...I did see that they moved over seas this pacakge is the one still made in the usa is there any diffrences in the two?? i was hopeing to hear some first hand experince with these scopes any info would be great thanks Cody
  2. Re: What do you think of the deer herd? I have to agree in many parts of pa the deer are hurting. I feel that the PGC needs to do a much better job in managing smaller areas instead of these large WMU's. If the two week doe slaughter is working down south thats great. But in the big woods the deer are just not there and the game commission needs to step up and change things for the areas that are hurting just my 2cents Cody

  5. Re: Would you ever sell.... I think it would depend on what record animal i took. I shot the next Typical world record whitetail. I would sell it in a heartbeat I'm not the kind of person that would like random people knockin on my door everyday to see the mount or worry about somebody stealing it plus you know how many hunting trips you could go on with that money.....haha Cody

  7. Re: anyone? here are some of the things i've picked up. be pacient. when your calling and you think you need to move and get a lil closer dont!!! 9 times outta 10 your gonna get busted and the hunt will be over also when your calling if you mess up dont stop call through sometimes actual turkeys make the worst sounds in the woods they arent perfect so you dont need to be either. ohhh ya and have fun!!!!!! Cody
  8. Re: Scopes I agree with liverferhuntin....what you have is a good set up for a 30-30...but if you are set on getting a new scope take a look at the bushnell trophys I bought a 3x9 for 100 bucks this past fall just to throw on my ruger 300 win mag that i had just bought just so i could put some shells through it before i shelled out the big bucks on a top of the line scope and i couldnt of been happier....i ended up taking my fixed power off my 30-30 and put it on and i took my old bushnell off my 270 and got a 4-12 trophy....they have the Amber-Bright optics that really help you pick out critters and they are great in low light Cody

  12. It’s seems like it has been an eternity since deer season ended. Withdraws set in long ago. I’ve spent hours watching hunting videos, looking at old pictures, and telling hunting stories to anybody who will listen. To say I’ve been looking forward to opening day of spring gobbler season would be an understatement. It’s been my driving force to get through these short cold days of winter. Turkey season is why I haven’t called in sick in the last few months so I can play hooky on a warm spring day. I long for the morning when my alarm clock will go off at 4:00 in the morning. Any normal person wouldn’t dream of putting on camo and heading out to the woods well before the sun is up. But for me it’s all I’ve been dreaming of. Don’t be fooled that old tom has been dreaming of this time of the year as well. He will spend his days strutting and gobbling hoping a sweet hen or two well come to him and I’ll spend mine chasing after him. When you look at it that way he seems to be the lucky one as he gets to chase the girls all day. However anybody who has entered the spring turkey woods to try and out smart a boss gobbler knows they are truly the lucky one’s being able to be out with God’s creatures as they wake up and look around for there morning breakfast. Then it will happen the woods will explode with the sound of the first gobble of the season the hair on my arms will stand up as the sweet sound hits my ears. Finally after hours of day dreaming, scouting, and endless hours of practicing with that new call that I just had to have. I’ll get to match wits with that sneaky tom come the opener. I’ll throw all my tricks at him then when he gets really sneaky I’ll throw him something freaky (primos plug) to try and get him into range but remember he’s been dreaming of this day to. Not just chasing hens but the chance of making me shake my head and ask why he did that. This is the reason I enter the woods each spring its not to just to kill something, rather it’s to be apart of a great chess match and being able to be in God’s country…. ~cody~ Hope you guys enjoyed this...I know some of yall are hitting the woods already but i still have another month hope everybody has a great season and more importanly a safe season Cody
