  1. not sure how everything works now... been in Germany the past three years... tried to buy my license the other day... although they DID have records of me buying a license before, they had no records of me taking the hunter safety classes... so I have to find the certificates or take the classes all over again... Needless to say, I wasn't too happy... I don't even know how much the licenses cost anymore... Haven't been able to hunt since 2010
  2. i'd guess low 120's
  3. Patriots v.s Saints Patriots taking it all (unfortunatly)
  4. my first deer with the bow also happened to be my first deer ever. It was October 29th, 2005, and I shot a button buck at 27 yards. I made a bad shot and hit the deer near the hind leg, but managed to hit the main artery, luckily the deer ran over to a guy I was hunting with, and he made a better shot on the deer and made the tracking a lot shorter. A week later on November 6th, I killed my second bow deer a spike. I found out a few years later that my dad and grandpas both first horned bucks were spikes!!! 5. Hey everyone, I know I'm not one of the most well known forum members on here, but I have always enjoyed reading the threads and sharing hunting stories over the past few years... I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm headed to Germany... I graduated Infantry ARMY Basic Training on December 14th, and I'll be stationed in Germany for a couple of years.. I have been fortunate enough to spend all of the holidays home with my family, so it's making the transition into ARMY life a lot easier... It's been a fun few years reading posts and joining in on the deer hunting contest every year! I missed all of hunting season so I haven't been able to see how everyone did this year... I hope everyone had a successful season! I'll try to be on as much as I can, but training to go to Afganistan will probably consume a lot of my time! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!!! Take care, Tom

  11. pretty good episode... steve has some guts standing up to new captain Derek Ray like that... Don't know how long that will last before one of them leaves the boat... Overall a pretty good episode, just not the same w/ out Captain Phil tho! :-/
  12. if he keeps it up, looks like Tiger will be the favorite...
  13. love to golf myself, unfortunatly, the courses never dried enough to get out and play... it will probably be another few weeks before the courses are dry enough and i can get out an play...
  14. I've always been taught to gut there deer in the woods, where it falls... reason is, creates a lot less of a mess, and it's a lot lighter of a drag... i've never, nor i have i ever seen anybody gut the deer after it has been hung... after we gut the deer we hang it by it's feet, usually we skin it a day or two later...

  16. i was given advice about beginners and golf that i think could also translate to bowhunting... if you have $1000, don't spend $800 on clubs and $200 on lessons, do the complete opposite... spend the $800 on lessons and $200 on clubs... because you could have the best clubs out there and if you dont know how to hit the ball, it aint going anywhere... same thing with bowhunting, you could have the best bow out there, but if you have improper form, then you won't be able to hit a house... so if you have a budget of say $500, buy a cheap used bow, and spend the rest on lessons so you learn the right way to shoot from the beginning...
  17. looks great! congrats on the kill!

  19. would have to be my dad... he has never been successful in taking a large whitetail... he has always had bad luck when a big buck comes within shooting range... last year during muzzleloader season he had a big buck come up on him but he couldn't cock the hammer back because he didnt put his breach plug in all the way so he couldn't bring it back all the way... he has been hunting sice the early 70's and i would love for him to get a big buck...
