Best advice to you is don't let it eat you up. It does happen to all of us and if it hasn't you havn't been hunting very long. Looks like you have the genetics on your farm to grow some nice bucks and that means you will have more chances. Just learn from your mistakes.

The deer has really good looking cape as well as being a great deer. Plan on mounting him?

I would say 160 to Boone or bigger!

I make them the same way but stuff them with onions and a heaping teaspoon of butter then wrap them with bacon!

Hey guys smoked a pair of does this morning! Doing a little herd managment here in Knox county IL..Been trying too set up on a 160" 12 pt. with split g2's that I seen last sunday. Hit him with the buck roar and it fired him up. He come walking in to 40 yrds. but was just too dark to take a shot. He hasn't been back since.
