big acorns certain spots in Southern Ohio are loaded and others are less. Most of the acorns are huge.

Just wondered if anyone has used this to help them follow a blood trail?? I am color blind and struggle bad when trying to find red blood on leaves or grass. Just bought one of these and wondered how well they work at night, or day. thanks

Hunted Southern Ohio this weekend. Saw tons of deer chasing does. Only got good shots at 1-2year bucks. Big bucks would not come close or were busy chasing does. Is there any way to effectively hunt the rut. Food sources werent being used at all during the day. ANY IDEAS??

Re: Help with Game cams we have used them for the last 4-5 years. Trial and error before we got some good pics. Slow trigger for trails. make sure the deer are heading directly to the camera and no side shots. over bait works great. test it first, so you have it at the right height. coons and other rodents if you have it too low. nice pics once you figure it out

Re: So, do decoys really work (pics)? the same thing happened to my decoy. he lifted her right off the steel posts. left his brow tine marks right in her rear end, evidenced by the big holes on both sides of her tail. those are pretty amazing pics.

Re: MY BIG 8!!!!!!!! man you werent supposed to make this big of a jump. We started out with the basket racks then you skipped to this thing. Im still in shock from when we found it. What will you do for an encore.

Re: Butchering fees vs doing it yourself... in ohio most of the fees are around 75-80 bucks for a buck, some a little less for a doe. Get a good knife kit, some rope, make yourself a good buck pole, and a book that explains everything. Takes a while at first, then you can do the whole thing by yourself in a couple hours.

Re: Deer hunting in the rain. we hunted in the rain all sat. The deer seemed a lot more nervous with all the rain drops hitting leaves and the ground they were very alert and cautious. On top of that i couldnt hear a thing. I got one in the spine so tracking in the rain was very easy. It also helped because im color blind and cant see the blood on the ground.

Re: bucks are rubbing and scrapping. Some bucks are scrapping in michigan right now also. i put my stand up by a scrape a couple days old friday afternoon. Sat morning he hit it sometime. Very fresh. Not sure why already

looks like a little rain friday, but finally some cool weather. upper 50's for the high low in the 30's. Come on deer get moving!!!

Re: Michigan Youth Hunt sounds great. i agree an 8 point is great anywhere, but in the area i hunt in michigan it is a trophy. i hope we have that kind of luck oct 1.

Re: when do acorns drop in michigan my buddy just scouted a little yesterday near cadillac michigan. he said we had tons of acorns but not much deer sign at all. Last year the same thing. Mid sept. lots of acorns and no deer sightings, that gave us no hope. We returned on Oct 1 to find the deer had all of a sudden shown up and were eating the acorns. We had a good week. Im hoping it is a little too early for the deer to be eating acorns, maybe next couple of weeks.
