  1. Ft sill, How far are you from the base?
  2. Stationed in Oklahoma for pre-deployment training I was able to get some free time this past week and decided to head deep into the woods to search for some bone. After 3 hours I decided to head back and on the way I found the left side which is from a main frame 10 with 3 points off its base. I was so pumped I didnt even think about looking for the other side. Two days later I headed back out to find the other side. I went to the exact spot I found the first and looked up and it was laying 10 yards away. It has 9 points. Judging by the peticles the buck is around 5 or 6 and with a 19 inch spread he would gross 177.
  3. nevermind I just figured it out. Thanks again
  4. I'm not seeing anything that says ubb code? thanks for your help
  5. Hey guys just wondered why the poctures I just posted on the photo post don't have a ubb code like they used to. Unless I just forget how to do it. Any help is appreciated. Nick
  6. Basically my question is how far do todays slug guns shoot accurately to the point where you wouldn't have to aim 5 feet over a deers' back?
  7. Hey just wondered If anyone new much about how far todays slug guns can shoot accurately. I have to make a decision on whether I want to buy an inline (which I know shoots 200 yards but only one time) or a slug gun(which Im unsure of how far todays slug guns can shoot) Thanks for your help Nick
  8. adrenaline junky are you seeing that buck in Pa?
  9. How did you get in on leasing ground that cheap?
  10. The buck was killed with a rifle and that is the rifle behind the deer. It was in our local newspaper.
  11. I hunted in Canton were you with an outfitter?
  12. Yes the buck had its leg blown off probably a week before judging by the wound, but you never would've known when watching him run
  13. I I was close to calling it quits after hunting every single day of the Pa archery and rifle seasons when a buddy drove this 4 1/2 year old 11pt to me which I had been hunting and saw 3 times in archery. Very smart buck, almost made it through another season. He was runnng at about 150 yds when a 150 grain bullet from my .270 dumped him. Thanks for looking
  14. Timberland Outfitters, they lease the hunting rights to land in Illinois and you pay to hunt on it
  15. They do not plant food plots its clearly just Illinois farmed property. The buck I killed last year I have a video from a trail camera from the neighbors property a month before I killed him. I understand there are other outfitters with fences, food plots, tagged deer etc. but this is not one of them.
  16. Just for the books there is no high fence and the trips arent fully guided like it sounds. You actually have to hunt for a buck at Timberland. I've been there twice and killed twice just due to the fact that the bucks are there and they manage their property well. here are the Bucks I killed there http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66388
  17. My week in Illinois turned out to be another successful one this year. (Nov 5-9) Some of you may remember the buck I was fortunate enough to take last year Well this year was a little more stressful. It came down to the last half hour of the last evening, after a long week of tough hunting, and here came a buck which I passed on last year as a 3 year old 130" 8 point, but now is a 13 point. Needless to say he got the muzzy. The buck was nicknamed chocolate after the sighting of him last year and seeing his dark horns. This is how I know its the same buck. The horns dont' look dark in the picture because of the flash. He ended up scoring 145 3/8 By the way I didnt't get the full body mount back yet of my buck from last year, thats why you haven;t seen pics yet.
  18. shoot from a tree and see where you hit then go from there
