  1. Re: PA Deer Hunters...Check this out its a good thing it is doe only, but I know that doesnt stop a number of farmers from taking out trophies when they get the opporunity year round. I dont like the idea of crop damage tags in general, but I guess in some parts of the state it must be a pretty bad problem.
  2. Re: Oklahoma deer the buck at the zoo im sure is getting ample nutrients it needs to hold those horns on longer. The feed definately has a lot to do with how long they hold their horns

  8. Hey guys remember this buck I killed in Illinois this year in archery, Well last weekend I went back to the outfitters to hunt for coyotes and sheds and to just hang out, and the owner showed me this video which another hunter had captured a month before I killed My buck. Theres not a whole lot more you can ask for. Check this out-- http://s166.photobucket.com/albums/u118/ficknissel/?action=view&current=gorillavideo.flv O yeah, that same small buck pushed a doe passed me seconds before I killed the big boy. I'll bet ya he was heading over to do the same thing he did on the video when he got arrowed

  16. hey guys, Finally getting a chance to post my Illinois harvest, from november 6th. We were finding rubs on fence posts so we set up a stand on the edge of the nearest bedding area and I hunted it two nights later and this buck came out skirting the timber. He came around straight downwind and luckily i drenched myself in earth scent 3 times throughout the evening, because he stopped and gave me a few head bobs. I thought for sure the hunt was over, but he put his head back to the ground on my scent trail and cruised right around to around 24 yards where he was stuck by the switchback and ran about 50 yards into the CRP and piled up, like a dream. The outfitter allowed me to take the fencepost along so I could put it in the full body mount that's on the way! If your interested in the outfitter I'll answer any questions. You can bet Im going back next year. The buck ended up at 340 lbs, 184" gross, with 17 points
  17. Hey I just recieved a call from my guide in Illinois and he said they found 6 sheds already and have seen many half racked bucks. he said to plan my flight out the first weekend in february to shed hunt. is there a possibility that the majority of bucks may have dropped by then? Thanks
  18. Re: First day Pa, how did ya do had a 6 or an 8 come under me right just before shooting hours followed by a total of 9 does that came from all directions to feed on acorns the tree i was in was dropping. Evening had a 3 point cruise by around 4 and two does bust me around 5, so that pretty much killed my area for the evening. Awesome feeling to know its all started up again.

My unit for the gaurd is located there. Im headed there this weekend for drill. just wondered where you saw them.

  25. hey guys, just wondered how everyone is making out. It seems like the action gets worse as the days go by. Im wondering if the cause of this is the partially warm weather or the amount of deer being killed year after year. Ive gone to stands which have shown presented me many bucks over the years during this time of year, and not seen anything. Any kills/ action? anyone having the same problems?
