Not a fan of the Cavs but i kinda feel bad for the fans. I personally did not like the way James handled things. A one hr TV special was classless. I have always thought Lebron was a bit of a fraud to be honest. I thought in the last playoff series that James quit on his team. If his intentions were to leave and play with Wade and Bosh all along, then i could see a reason for him to tank games. How would he explain to the fans that he wanted to leave to win if he had just won a title? It's been reported these 3 made a deal in the 08 olympics to play together. So i don't believe James at all when he says he made his decision yesterday morning. This decision was made long ago and the last week was nothing but an act, a joyride if you will, full of reality tv cameras and all. BTW, the owner of the Cavs is furious! lol

I'm a Purdue fan so i know the feeling to lose one of your best players. Hated to see Lucas go down like that at this stage of the game. It was great to see both Michigan State and Purdue still advance to the sweet 16 though even despite being short handed. Says a lot for the Big Ten, who by the way is having a pretty nice tournament. The mighty big East who all the talking heads love so much is not doing so hot. It's funny listening to guys on ESPN making excuses for them now.

That was one of the more interesting first days in some time. I had a feeling this may happen as their is no real dominant team this year and the gap between a lot of these teams is not that big. It's really messed up my bracket though as it seems like every close game went against me. I lost 4 games by a total of 5 points and 3 of those games were decided with under a second left.

Ouch, i'm off to my worst start in years. It's going to be a year for the upsets with so many equally talented teams. Gtown getting hammered at the moment as well by a 14 seed.

I have not submitted multiple brackets in any one pool. I have however participated in several different challenges and my bracket in each pool is not necessarily exact. I only do the free online contests anyway, so i'm not losing any money either way and most of them only allow for one entry. ESPN.com is an exception as they allow 10 per person and with the amount of entries they receive every year, i can tell you that there is a whole of people who do not agree with you:D

I've got Kansas in quite a few of my brackets, but i'm not extremely confident about it as they got placed in a pretty tough bracket. I think they got jobbed actually. I think this is a year where there are several different teams who could have a legit shot of winning it all. There isn't one truly dominant team this year. Kentucky is good, but very young. It will be interesting to see how it goes. I'm a Purdue fan myself and our dream of a deep run ended 2 weeks ago when Robbie Hummel blew out his knee. Kind of took a lot of the excitement out of it for me.

I'm hopeful for a colts win. I will be in attendance on the 20 yard line for my first ever AFC title game in person. I was at the Ravens game last Saturday too and had a blast. The Jets could pull the upset, but they would need a lot of things to go right, such as kickers continuing to miss field goals against them. I feel better about this matchup then i probably would have versus the Chargers. The Chargers just matchup great with the Colts for some reason. That being said, there is still a small part of me that doesn't fully trust the shoe in the playoffs. So why i feel good about there chances, i'm certainly not overconfident and realize anything could happen.

I'd like to see Indy take either DT Perria Jerry or Evander "Ziggy" Hood. If they go WR, i'm hoping maybe Hakeem Nicks. It's also possible they could go RB, but outside of Moreno or maybe Wells, i don't know who they would waste a first on. After years of watching Colts GM Bill Polian draft, one thing is certain, my picks are probably way off and he will probably draft some guy I have never heard of. He does do a pretty good job though.

Im in as well. I saw this post over on another hunting site and joined up on Sunday. I'm under the name of bigbuck00. -
I just wonder who he is going to throw the ball too. Other then the tight end, i'm not even sure who their receivers are. Since they gave up draft picks, getting one early via draft isn't going to happen. I believe that Matt Forte, the RB, led the bears in receptions last year. Cutler can throw it around, there is no doubt about it. There is also no doubt that Denver's receiving unit blows the Bears out of the water. Orton wasn't great, but considering what he had to work with, i felt he did a decent job and was getting better each season. I just wonder if he had some better receivers what may have happened. And, the Bears defense was not exactly solid last year either. 21st ranked overall. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

Terrible Sunday. I can kiss the big screen goodbye. Aww well, it was fun while it lasted anyway. For as much crap as the big ten took this year from people like Espn, i think it was great that Michigan State beat the overall number 1 from the big east conference and did it convincingly. The task becomes a little harder with UCONN and the man in the middle, but i think State can hang with em.

There is the hit to my realtree bracket. I had Pitt winning it all. Thats ok, i had Nova in the other bracket for the TV. That was a heck of a game too. 33rd nationally now in my yahoo bracket. Have UNC winning that one but i don't think it matters, someone ahead of me im sure will have the same final 4. Could use the 10 grand though lol.

Hmm, i'm currently in 2nd place. However, i am in another bracket challenge locally here in Indiana on one of the TV news websites. First place in that contest is a free big screen HD television. Before the sweet 16, i was in about 275th place and figured i was done. As of today, i'm tied for first with 2 other people. A lot of chalk pickers evidently. But, my final 4 picks for the realtree bracket and this other bracket are a tad different. So in order for me to win the TV, my bracket for realtree will have to take a hit, in this case, i would be ok with that.

He is sorry that he got caught, thats about it. At least he is smart enough to learn from the ones before him though that it is better to just admit it from the start instead of denying it.
-
Good point, and then they turn around and flag Pittsburgh for the exact same thing. That's what i'm saying, absolutely no consistency in the way games are officiated anymore. It's pathetic, maybe they need to re think the idea of part time refs.
-
I actually watched this too and was glad to see they actually admitted to blowing the call on Holmes after he scored the winning TD. He clearly used the ball as a prop in his celebration and it should have been a 15 yard penalty on the following kick off. Couple that with the fact that Arizona still had 2 timeouts and that would have made for a very interesting finish. By my count, thats 3 calls right there that the refs got wrong on the field. They missed this one, and 2 were overturned by replay. The NFL needs to clean up their act in officiating before they head down the road of the NBA. This is not just a superbowl problem, this is an every week, every game problem and it gets worse every year.
-
Officiating is terrible in the NFL, always has been. It's getting worse though every year. They are becoming a huge part in these games and the consistency of some of these calls are ridiculous. Offensive holding is a hit and miss call anymore depending on what crew you get. They have been told to not throw flags unless the guy being held could potentially make a play. Ridiculous in my opinion. A hold is a hold.
-
I thought before the game it would be very close. I had originally said Zona 23/Pitt 20. I thought for a minute i was going to be pretty close on that. That being said, going into the 4th qtr i thought it was pretty one sided and i expected to Pitt to just roll in the 4th. Glad the ending was exciting.

That sucks man. Had it happen to me too just last year. Went down to the basement to get something, just happened to look over at the freezer and noticed the light was off. Walked over there and found the thing UNPLUGGED! Don't ask me how it happened. Anyways, i was able to save about half of it, the rest i had to throw away. I was up until 2 am that night frying up the burger for things like Tacos and chili and then put them in bags to freeze. It was either that or lose all my burger . I had some summer sausage that was good to go and a few of the steaks were still pretty solid. I'm thinking it was unplugged for maybe a day and a half at the most, still don't know how it happened. Needless to say i'm a little paranoid now and check it frequently.

LOL. Did anyone read why it was that he "blew" the stop sign?

Do you know anyone who has made it in the pros?

Played all through little league and high school with Aaron Heilman of the New York Mets. He was a starter his entire career but the Mets have made him a reliever. He hasn't done too bad overall, he did give up the HR to Molina of the Cardinals in that playoff game though that sent the birds to the series. He was unhittable in high school, also broke all kinds of records at Notre Dame. http://mlb.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=408310 -
I heard 5 or 6 of the players actually stood up and threatened to not play the rest of the season if they got rid of Sampson. Apparently it happened Thursday night at the team meeting when the players were being informed of the decision. 6 of em skipped practice yesterday and should be benched in my opinion if they made the trip to Northwestern. Im a Purdue fan myself, but i do appreciate the way IU handled this. They put a quick end to it. If you cheat, you should be out of a job, unless your in New England. The players simply have to grow up and ask themselves who it was Sampson was thinking of when he knowingly broke the rules for the 2nd time. IU was around a long time before them and will be around for a long time after. If that team had more Indiana kids on it, maybe they would better understand why the decision had to be made. Of all the kids who skipped yesterday, only one was an Indiana kid. All those kids who did not feel above Indiana basketball should be rewarded with a start and significant playing time tonight. The starting 5 would consist of all Indiana boys.

I'm not really a big fan of the show, but i think the girl you are talking about is Amanda Overmyer? Only reason i know is becuase she has been all over the news here, she grew up in a little town 20 minutes down the road. That accident she had actually happened at an intersection about 5 minutes from my home, it's the route i take to work everyday.
