Congrats Rhino on another great season & another limit. One question though...out of the three birds/stories, I did not read one mention of the ole gobble shaker. Did I miss something, or did you finally sling the reed out of that thing!

Best story of the year. Look forward to reading these every spring. Seems to be taking a little longer each year to get that first post up though!!!:D Congrats on another great turkey hunt and story. Thanks for sharing. I can appreciate having to inspect the bumper! Speaking of taking a while to hear from...where is your ole buddy Cove hiding? He's usually posted 4 or 5 birds by now. Did he finally get married and can't get a kitchen pass now!

From what I've seen (which isn't much) the deer are eating any left over acorns that they can find that haven't spoiled with all the water. If you have a good green field that hasn't flooded, I am sure that they are on that as well (esp after dark). As far as the rut...mixed back depending on who you ask. As of this weekend it was sporatic at best. Seems to be that the young bucks are willing (of course), but the major chasing/breeding seems to still be a ways off. Find the major food source in your area & be patient. They have to eat (esp in these temps) and we all know, find the does favorite food & let them be the bait! Good luck with your remaining season. Congrats Rhino on another great season. Been waiting on your updates for quite a while. Thinks seem to be starting to get "right" here in Bama. Hopefully some fall in the next few weeks.
