Re: coyotes with bow????? Hunting a quick prickly pear ground blind over a game trail in South Texas. Had 2 yotes cross the trail. A few seconds later the 3rd yote stops and sits down at 25 yards facing me head on. Aimed center chest and let the Hoyt SuperTec bark. Dropped instantly.

Re: how often to you guys buy new bows I only buy if my primary ride doesn't outperform the newest technology. Right now I shoot a 2003 Hoyt UltraTec and 2004 Hoyt XTec. Speed wise, both are fast, forgiving and accurate. I still own my first recurve (60s vintage Blackwidow) for my primary recurve hunting bow. Haven't found a need to replace her yet and she's been golden since 1970

Re: video Here's my 11 pointer taken in Sonora Texas (Elbow Lake Ranch). Low fence, free range, no feeders....just another day on the ranch in West Texas. Next year, alot more to come. This was the first year filmed seriously. Learned a lot and plan on doing more along the coast with sharks as well. Re: ARCHERY VIDEOS !!!! What do you like??? I like the regular joe videos over everything. The self filmed stuff is excellent and it truely is what hunting is. Format can be anything and dialog wide open as well. The neat thing about amatuer hunting videos...it's generally folks like all of us in their prime hunting scene. Each place has it's own style as well as hunting attitude. Getting to see the regular joe or jane hunt in their turf is way cool.

Re: maryland big bucks First buck is a 155-160 class gross deer The 2nd buck is 190 class and an absolute horse. Soybeans, corn & wheat must be nearby? I used to hunt a bunch along the Virginia/Maryland Eastern Shore during the early 80's and some of the deer up there are monsters. Watched a doe hit the scale at 200lbs one day near T's corner on Hwy 13. Good luck...very impressive bucks!

Re: State Records I might have shot the Texas largest Rio in the bow category (NWTF) a couple of years ago? Both spurs 1.5, 10 inch beard but.....I didn't get his weight total. He felt 20+ but I didn't get an exact. I'll have the mount at this year's NWTF roundup in Nashville. Next time, the scale is going with me.

Re: Early Spring Good Or Bad? Early is best in Texas. As warm as this year's winter has been, Toms are strutting right now. Probably will be all bred up by the time April 1st gets here Quality calling this year will be a premium.

Re: Hog Hunting Congrats and good luck! Shoot as many of them as you can. Darn things are out of complete control down here. It's a blast hunting them though under a nighttime full moon spot and stalk. Between all the snakes with venom and bear sized hogs...it certainly keeps you on you're toes
